• .Cohiba Robusto.  This was the toughest decision.

• I've never had a cigar in this category.  I've been busy stocking up on regular production.  Someday I hope.

Your Best New Release  (2019/2020 production )

• I haven't had a new release yet, but have a box each of Punch Short de Punch and Trinidad Media Luna somewhere between Oz and Kansas.  ?

Your Most Improved (2017 - 2020 production)

• Monte #2.  I found the older ones boring, but my 2018-20 have been nice. 

Your Mr. Dependable Award (2017-2020 production) 

•  PLPC, but there are a few I could put here.

• Quai D'Orsay Coronas Claro - Still fantastic but in in a slightly different blend to their old band format.  I've noticed deeper rosado wrapper enter the fray, that may have cut down on the creamy porridge opulence of those old boxes, but what it has done is amplify the orange peel and overall power. 

Your Specialty Production Cigar of the Year   (2017 - 2020 production). 

• Agree with @ElJavi76  SPGQ or Trinidad Esmeralda, both worth their money

Your Best New Release  (2019/2020 production )

• Shorts De Punch, but I don't think this is a vitola specific thing, someone is showing the Punch marca the tobacco love,  I've noticed quality way up across the board. I've got a couple of recent Punch Punch box that is 'giggle to yourself whilst smoking good'. 

Your Most Improved (2017 - 2020 production)

• Punch Punch,    they've gone from over packed tent pegs that tasted of pencil shavings,  to Juicyfruit gum, creamy, clove bombs. 

Your Mr. Dependable Award (2017-2020 production) 

•  RGPC,   This cigar is bullet proof,  someone at HSA has a soft spot for these, and rightly so.  Standards never seem to dip.    Often makes the Monte 4 look stupid.

think they are asking since last year, imo mote 2 and 5 along with pretty much everything have released has been on point since at lest 2018 maybe further back

I read it as improved over pre-2017. Anyway, I'm liking the Monte 2 (2018-2020) much more than I used to. Hence, most improved, imo.

I've never had the 5, but will give them a try.

I see you regularly sing praises of La Fuerza.  Having never had one, what do you like about it?  How would you describe it?

- El Rey del Mundo La Reina UK Regional Edition 2018. Don’t smoke many specialties, but was impressed with this skinny-nicely balanced and complex.

Your Best New Release  (2019/2020 production )

- Trinidad Esmeralda. A class act. 

Your Most Improved (2017 - 2020 production)

- Montecristo No. 2. This has become overall richer and more creamy than before making a good cigar great.

Your Mr. Dependable Award (2017-2020 production) 

- Bolivar Petit Corona. Never fails for a shorter cigar. I could easily have chosen BBF instead, but reach for the BPC more often.

La Fuerza of the last 3 years has been everything great about San Cristobal. So true to the marca's DNA along with outstanding construction and remarkable consistency. It isn't the best cigar I had all year, but it is consistently almost the best, so it gets my best of the year. They always score a 93-95 for me. 

As far as profile, as I said, it's pure San Cristobal. Sweet molasses (lighter than El Principe), marshmallows and cream, milk chocolate. The 17s and 18s seem to be a little richer than the 19s unfortunately. The richer 17s & 18s were really getting up there around 95-96 points for me.

I almost put the HDM Rio Seco for cigar of the year, I was torn with Monte 2, but ultimately was a very close second for me.  Once I got over the size and enjoyed it for what it was, it’s quickly become one of my favorites in my humidor.

My box of Rio Seco LTO ENE 20 is worlds ahead of my box of UBM SEP 19. I would be on the train of hating the QdO 50 but the one I had last week was the reason why they got so much praise. They were delicious and if they were all like the one last week, it would win the category.

Montecristo no2. I have a 2015 box that has zero flavor. My RAT JUN 20 box is on fire. Honestly, almost everything improved between 17/18 to 19/20.
