Popular Post Thatsze Posted November 29, 2020 Popular Post Posted November 29, 2020 Finally got a cutter, cigars are much better this way ?. Iirc this was a 2017 box. The second to last example from this box, this cigar was mostly well constructed, while a touch loose in a couple areas, the draw was not tight, which tends to be a problem for this vitola. The wrapper was average, no patches on it, but little oil. The cigar starts out plain, toasted tobacco with sweet wood notes. It stays this way for the first third. Burn is clean requiring no touchups, and the draw is clear. Going into the second third, the sweet notes transform into a mild caramel. The cigar is mild to medium bodied, and mainly consists of these two notes, but is quite pleasant. For the price these do what they do. The cigar's body begins to ramp up slightly, with the notes of caramel and toasted tobacco remaining unchanged. Coming into the last third, there are bits where the cigar is under filled. It goes out quite a few times. The notes begin to grow harsher, and the burn gets hotter. I toss the cigar shortly after the picture above. It was a pleasant smoke, great for the price, but nothing too fancy. The construction was above average for this vitola, and only became troublesome towards the end. For an arbitrary score I'll give it an 85/100. I'd recommend getting a box, they're a great value, just be ready for a few plugged cigars. 8
amberleaf Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 Spot-on review. Pretty much toasted tobacco with a hint of sweetness is how I'd describe them, but despite their lack of complexity I would always recommend them, you can't go wrong for the price. 1
