I’m sure most of us hoard boxes, but every once in a blue moon Tubos come up on 24:24 and we fall in love with the tin.

I’ll be curious to see the results.  For me, I don’t buy tubos.  Not saying I wouldn’t, just always felt they were overpriced and take up too much room in my cabinet.

How do you store your tubos? Lol. Looks like part of the body of my message got stuck in the poll header.

I tend to agree with you. I scored some 24:24 Cohiba pyramid tubos earlier this month that showed up on my doorstep today. Just feeling out the general consensus.

First time getting some. They look and smell out of this world good. Makes it difficult not to camp out for a box. Haha

if it's only for a few months i'll just take the cap off but if it's long term storage i take them out of the tube. i think aging them in the tubes with those cedar inserts gives them an overpowering cedar taste after a few years, plus the peace of mind being able to see they are mold free

Cap on for long term, cap off for short term.  For me, tubes kind of fill in gaps in the wineador and I use them as spacers for my other cigars too.

To prevent the overwhelming cedar, couldn't you remove the cedar insert?  Wonder if the cigar touching the tube will cause some reaction?

I rarely buy tubos, but the ones I have I take the cigars out for storage. Don't trust the mold issues that can occur.

If they're tight they go back in the box with cap off. Otherwise cap on until I go to smoke one.

Caveat that if I open one with "plume" I'll open them all to check and let breathe for a few weeks....

Interesting! The general replies seem to lead thinking cap off is the majority, however the poll results are exactly the opposite ?

not sure but i feel like it's a lot quicker and easier to just remove the cigar. i guess if you have some need for the added protection or gap filling it might be worth it, but i don't

Like many others, I'll air out if needed then cap on for storage.  Just about every box tubos I've bought has had at least a couple sticks with mold.  I've never had it reappear after they're wiped clean.  Temperature swings are a probably the biggest culprit for mold on cigars in capped tubos.

Cap on for me.

I have also put regular sticks into tubes for long storage , just to see what happens.

after three of four  years, some of my Upmanns and Partagas pc's show very rich aromas and lots of flavor, and the extra little hint of cedar.

I find these very tasty.
