Diplomaticos Belux BRO MAY 19 (49NRW)

Decided to pull this cigar out to see how they are smoking. The first one I had didn’t burn too well as I believe it was still wet. This sample was in my 61rh desktop humidor for about a week.

 

Used a punch and paired with a porter which turned out to be a bad pairing as it tasted like suntan lotion (likely the coconut)

 

 

 

This is a montesco Vitola measuring at 55 by 130mm.

 

Draw and construction was perfect!

 

1st light bread, cereal

 

 

2nd: same as above

 

3rd: same as above with a little more body. Just below medium at best.

 

I must say I was disappointed as I have found dip regionals to be some of the best. It was just somewhat bland and not that typical rich sourdough that I get from diplomaticos. I am hoping this is just a one off as really do enjoy diplomaticos. Can’t fault the construction however, so I will give this a 86.

Just went to collective arts looking for that beer but they only had their regular porter. Grabbed an imperial porter from there which was nice. Thanks for the review!

Hey give it a shot. I think it’s just not a good pairing with a CC.
I love collective arts btw. Their ipa no14 and no15 are excellent.

Yeah, they make great beer. Really like their regular porter and have been curious about the chocolate/coconut one.

Personally, i haven't had a bad one. I went deep on this cigar. Got like 7 boxes of them. I have to say Brent, i have gotten that sourdoughey goodness from mine. I usually pair with green tea or coffee. @Lrabold89 might be right about your pairing. Looking forward to hear what your next one tastes like. Cheers!

I honestly think it was a one off. Dips for me are usually on point. And yes I do think the beer was not the right pairing. I knew it to even before I cracked the can lol
