Popular Post Bijan
Thanks to @JohnS for this my first Cohiba Media Siglo. It was over official weight, but draw was not too bad so didn't use the perfecdraw. Predraw of hay and coffee. I think I did a poor job lighting it, specifically the wrapper lit up well but the filler wasn't fully lit. I should have corrected it immediately but didn't unfortunately. I also most likely smoked it way too fast, embarrassed to say how fast but let's say as fast as a minuto. It was odd, lots of mint, peppermint on the draw. Low smoke output I think. Though extremely flavourful on the draw, not much flavour on the retrohale. But very tingly mint all the way. It started with a bit of honey, graham cracker immediately at the start, but that went away very quickly and then went straight to mint. Halfway in some coffee. Final third some tea. But mint throughout. Wrapper split a bit on the final third. As I hate a disappointing or odd review. I am going to smoke the second one and make sure to light it properly to see if that was the cause or if this cigar was an oddity. 8
BeerPimp
Thanks for the interesting review. I keep looking at these when they come up on the 24:24 but never pull the trigger. Next time I will have to. I was thinking about buying one but after seeing your review I think I will pull the trigger on a heater so I can enjoy cigars in the winter on my deck. Bijan
The second Medio Siglo turned out much the same. Pleasant but more mint than i'd expect. I don't think it was the cigar but me and the lower relative humidity tonight 45%-50%. I am more used to the higher humidity I usually have 65%,70% and higher. I think I am used to puffing at whatever rate makes sense for the damp weather I am used to, to keep the cigar lit. Doing the same in the dry air probably made the cigar burn hot with less smoke.
vhampl03
Interesting review...I’ve never gotten mint from a MS, just hay, graham cracker, honey - although they seem for me fuller/stronger than a CoRo....hopefully these two were just outliers for you. They’re pricey but I keep buying them....my current favorite smoke.
cigaraholic
Thanks for convincing me that the only way I’ll ever smoke one of these is if someone gives one to me ?
