El Presidente Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 From diario de cuba The Cuban government officially announced the implementation of a health rate of $ 30 or its equivalent in other currencies for all passengers entering the island as of December 1, the day the measure comes into effect. The obligation to pay was included in Resolution 293/2020 of the Ministry of Finance and Prices, published in the Extraordinary edition of November 14 of the Official Gazette of the Republic of Cuba. The Cuban Company of Airports and Airport Services S.A also disseminated the information through its social networks. The document indicates that the air carriers as well as the shipping companies or boat owners, including recreational ones, will be in charge of executing the payment of their passengers or crew through the airport, port and marine operators. , as well as ship agents. They also specify that the rate is set at US $ 30, although it can be paid in its equivalent in any other convertible currency. Only those who stay less than 24 hours in the national territory are released from the payment. On the other hand, Cubans who intend to travel outside the country for personal reasons and need to undergo a PCR test will have to pay 40 CUC or 1,000 Cuban pesos for it, the Holguinean radio station Radio Angulo reported. 1
NSXCIGAR Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 Any time the government needs money they claim it's for health care. Anything they auction off goes to health care. They might get more money if they just said "we need money because our people are starving."
madandana Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 I thought we were already paying that? ( called Health insurance)For the last few years it’s been included in the air fare. Is this above and beyond?
Habana Mike Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 Well at least we haven't had to pay to leave the country for a little while now.....

Above and beyond Mike. it was a requirement for tourists to Cuba to have health insurance. Some were included in ticketing. This $30 is CV19 specific. I assume to cover testing etal.
