THE DEPARTED/DISCONTINUED REVIEW WEEK

The Departed/Discontinued... and those that you believe may be in the departure lounge.

We have lost some great cigars over the past 20 years…and there are a few that have been hard to find over the past 18 months and may well be on shaky ground.

This is the week to review them all.

Pick any cigar that fits the bill and review it to go into the draw for an El Pres Selected Box (10). 

Add your pics to FOH A Week in Pics thread for an extra ticket in the draw. Max 3 reviews per member. 

 

 

To submit your review, follow these steps:

1. Start a new Topic in the Waterhole

2. Format your title as follows (so we can track entries):  Punch Churchill ABC JAN 16 (DDRW)* 

3. Write a review, include some photos, score it in your own way. 

Done!

I'm not an expert on its availability or odds of surviving the next round of cuts, but it might still fit the bill.

Edit: Certainly La Gloria Cubana Medaille D'Or No. 4 would qualify.

I see them around a couple times a year, usually in summer you’ll see the 5ers pop up.  They don’t last long, usually $200-$250 per 5 pack.  Meant to scoop some more as currently I’m out a couple months, ago but waited too long and “they gone!”

I wouldn't mind $300 for a 5 pack maybe but I really don't need more than 1 or 2. Was kind of eyeing the box when it was below $1,000. But the jump in the end put it out of my price range. I'd rather get a box each of esplendidos, lanceros and Robustos for that price!

I would assume not. Since they were never regular production but were meant to be limited production runs. So can't think of them getting discontinued.

They were on 24:24 about a year ago (?) for $144 (MOL JUL 19 box code). I picked up a fiver and am waiting for the two year mark before putting aside half a day to try one.

They have been 141-160 a 5er here.
