I find something a little odd about the relationship between draw tightness/cigar weight and smoke time.

Very logically underfilled/underweight cigars have the shortest smoke time for me.

But otherwise cigars closest to official weight with loser draw have the longest smoke time for me.

And tight overweight cigars have shorter smoke time though longer than the wind tunnnels.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that humidity is generally high-ish where I smoke (I smoke outdoors for the most part), and I hate to have to relight a cigar, so I puff more often on tight cigars to keep them lit.

What's everyone's experience with that?

I just smoked a Bolivar Petit Corona in 65 minutes down to a nub, but I've smoked a RyJ Churchill in about the same time and a Punch DC in 68 minutes, though my most recent Esplendidos was just over 100 minutes.

For me overweight cigars burn better and longer. I generally can get 1 hour from a heavier minuto. This is why I far prefer a fat overweight box to some skinnies.

Are you puffing more with the overweight cigars (perhaps double puffing, etc. to get over a plug)?

This is the likely culprit.  Double puffing to get a satisfying amount of smoke in the mouth is very common for me with tight cigars,  smoking doubly fast.

What's the ambient humidity where you're at? I wonder if that's the cause. I feel like if I puff any slower on these overweight tighter draw cigars they'll go out.

I'll try to pay attention next time, I'm probably doing this. But also I'm puffing more frequently to keep the cigar from going out. I wonder if this is related to ambient humidity as (especially lately) it's been higher RH levels outside than in my humidor, except for a few days.

Could be! So I will always pick lighter less dense cigars to smoke on a moist day (60-80%). This will usually snug up the draw a bit, which I like and cause few burn issues. For drier day, anything under around 50% I'll pull out the heavier sticks. Now my ADHD does keep a lighter in my hand for touch ups so that may impact my lack of burn issues with heavier cigars. I have found that I tend to prefer my minuto sized cigars about 2g. over published weight.

Yeah it's been 70-80% for a while here. Now finally 45-55%. Even hit 99-100% a few weeks ago. I don't mind touch ups for uneven burn as much for some reason (also if I try I can sometimes even it out by playing around with the cigar without the lighter) but really don't like relights.

2g overweight for minutos is a lot considering they're one of the most dense cigars by official weight and pretty small so 2g is over 25% overweight I think. I find draw to be ok up to 20% overweight especially on bigger cigars. 0% to a few percent (maybe 5%) underweight is ok for littler cigars and maybe 5%-10% overweight is optimal for bigger cigars. Anything less tends to get into wind tunnel territory.

That being said with the perfecdraw I have a lot less tight draw problems. If the perfecdraw can't solve it then it's probably a bit of a tent peg and the cigar gets dry boxed at lower humidity (59-60%) until the draw gets better.

I'll double check but I believe the factory weight of a mintuo is 7.5 gr and I think its around 9ish gr that I prefer them. They are certainly a tighter draw but it doesn't bother me and I feel I get better flavors and upwards of an hour out of them.
