Just read that 3 days ago 900 Russian tourists landed in Cayo Coco for an AI vacation that mandated not leaving the Key.

11 of them have tested positive for Covid-19 and are now at Moron hospital - in total 20 are in quarantine by now.

The Cuban health ministry MINSAP declares them to be "Russian citizens" of Ciego de Avila province in its statistic ... no mention of tourists.
Would be a bit embarrassing as they were the first to land to much fanfare of the state media about "safe vacations" in Cuba, meaning beaches, not hospitals.

These are all AI tourists ( just like in VRA ) that cannot and will not venture out of the isolated ghetto and leave no profit for the local economy.

And just a few days ago a similiar group of German tourists and tour-operators landed in Varadero to promote Cuban tourism.

Mindboggling ...

I know there is meant to be an acute accent over the second "o", but it is quite apt as it is.

Over here in NSW, it is only becoming mandatory to check in with QR codes or use a sign in sheet, for contact tracing. I don't see why it isn't mandatory for all businesses. I have a QR code and sign in sheet, and I get maybe 3 retail customers walking in (my biz is mainly with wholesalers and other distributors). Not that hard to do, but I still get people complaining to me why they should. I just tell them they can either sign or check in, or do not enter. I'm not putting myself, my family or my business at risk, just because you don't think this is a serious matter.

I wonder how the Germans are enjoying Varadero ? The Government reported Covid numbers in Cuba cannot be trusted..
