Popular Post djrey Posted October 23, 2020 Popular Post Posted October 23, 2020 I visited Cuba back in early 2013 and it really had a huge impact on my enjoyment of cigars. I had about 3 years of NC experience before that time but never Cuba. Like all first time trips to Havana it was a magical experience. I grabbed many singles to bring home and they have been patiently waiting in my humidor. Every cigar from that purchase remains “my previous.” They aren’t high dollar cigars but they remind me of an amazing time. I only pull them out of special occasions. Today is a beautiful fall day with warm weather so here we go. RyJ is a very new marca to me. Typically I stick with the bolder Partagas, Bolivar etc. cigar opened up with a beautiful floral note and bam, there’s the cherries people talk about. The tastes are subtle but damn is it classy. Second third the flavors shift a touch darker. Cherry is still there with some woodiness coming through. Nice Final third. Still working with butter smooth creamy cherries and toast. A bit of charcoal present but in a good way. Cherry wood in a BBQ. RyJ seems to get some hate on FOH. Usually toping the charts of most disliked brands. Though I have very limited experience, this surprises me. Mild cigars generally scare me away because I came from the NC world where a mild cigar was a Conn wrapper Dominican cigar that tastes like burning notebook paper. Lighter body CC like this Romeo are pure class. You just have to listen. 95 pts. 15
Connoisseur Kim Posted October 24, 2020 Posted October 24, 2020 Have a 4yr old RyJ Belicoso in my stash, but being worried about the negative reviews of that CC (it's one of the less loved CC on FOH). Your review encouraged me to review that Pyramid in future Kimfessions Series! ?

I also hope some heavily discounted RyJ comes up in 24:24 and people look the other way ? 1

Chibearsv Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 RyJ fan here. The Churchills are terrific when they are built right. Tasty, creamy, smooth, and a good buzz. Unfortunately, 15-20% of them are plugged logs in my experience. They are still great value for a churchill even if you add the extra expense of having to chuck one once in a while. The short churchills and the wide churchills are also very good smokes and have better consistency in their construction. 1
Kayslay Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 The Belicoso may be my favorite RyJ. Age well too! have a sourdough characteristic that I love 1
