GavLew79 Posted October 12, 2020 Posted October 12, 2020 Anyone else seen this 'trend' on social media, i.e. cutting, lighting and smoking *all* the Culebras in the bundle at once? Curious as to your opinions on whether it is: a) Light-hearted, tongue-in-cheek guffawing at the so called rules of cigar smoking? b) awful "look at me" conspicuous consumption? c) sheer ignorance; "someone told me they were smoked this way"? d) good, old-fashioned bell-endery. Cheers 3 1

CheersI've seen all of those choices more than a few times. The top two are: to mess around and complete obliviousness. I prefer seeing the former rather than the latter. The Leaf by Oscar has similar potential.Sent from my GM1917 using Tapatalk 1
mprach024 Posted October 12, 2020 Posted October 12, 2020 Wow, lol, I have not seen this. Be an expensive joke. Guessing it was just nativity.
SansSin Posted October 12, 2020 Posted October 12, 2020 i've seen some do it because they think it's cool being able to smoke 3 cigars at once, i would say majority just don't realize they are supposed to be separated tho, see it on IG a lot. i think they look like turds when separated so that may play a roll for the IG pics too?
Edward7 Posted October 12, 2020 Posted October 12, 2020 All of the above. There’s no benefit to smoking all 3 at once unless you want Instagram engagement. Would you cut a double corona into thirds and bundle them into a triple stick? Probably not.

Culebras are meant to be separated into 3 cigars, so that's why it can be shared with BOTLs during herf. I think it's unimaginable to puff all Culebras unless I'm Lawrence Davis LOL ? 2

I’m certain the smoking experience was not all it could’ve been. But, the cigars burned fairly well in spite of the shame they undoubtedly felt. And they told me....??: Rich in Partagas flavor, leathery earthy tobacco. Smoked each singularly for the most part. The one that canoed was not pleasant. But even it leveled out and was enjoyable. All fairly one note with just added Partagas spice in the final run. 3
BrightonCorgi Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 Culebras are one Habano's best tasting thin ring gauge cigars. Would love to pick up some before they are twisted. Has anyone been able to get Culebras in Habana before they were twisted? 1

I believe these are rolled very loosely in order to prevent the twisting from causing them to draw poorly. That being the case, I think they'd smoke hot and fast, and not give you a good rendering of the leaf therein if they were smoked untwisted. 1

They're brilliant cigars, just goofy to smoke.

I've tried that once with 3 smokers present, simply for the fun of it. We each tried to take a few puffs of the bundle - I found that it was impossible to get a proper seal on the lips around the cigars, and as a result actually very difficult to draw?? After a few (attempted) puffs each we simply split it into individual sticks and smoked 1 each. Actually a very tasty smoke. 2
