Cohiba Lancero MAR MAY 20 (S46RW)

Cohiba Lancero ROTT.

Chose a lighter weight one to try to ensure a good draw. Had to use the perfecdraw a bit to get it a little more open.

Predraw of mainly tobacco.

First third: honey and Graham crackers with a hint of mint on the retrohale.

Second third: baking spices come in, still mint on the retrohale.

Final third: spices are getting very heavy. Had to relight just before the band. Retrohale stills has that nice mint but with that spice now.

Definitely smoked it a little fast due to time constraints... 70 minutes. Probably not a good choice given the time I had available ?

Overall great for a young cigar ROTT but a little heavy towards the end. Hope to revisit this box once a year until 5 years in to see the progression.

70 mins is what Coronas Especiales are for. 

At least it looks like it burned quite well.

And if a Lanceros is good at 4 months it has a bright future ahead of it.

Laguito No. 1 is definitely not a cigar to be rushed. Slow smoking is essential. It's far too easy to overheat it and really step on the development of flavors.

When I have limited time I find that I can't shake it unconsciously and end up smoking faster than I realize. I'm willing to bet this Lanceros would have been even better if you had unlimited time, which is encouraging as you enjoyed it as smoked.
