Popular Post teamrandr Posted September 20, 2020 Popular Post Posted September 20, 2020 Full disclosure this cigar was graciously sent to me by member Plato in a PIF. I just got it last Tuesday and was so excited I just couldn't wait. So it did not get the obligatory 30 days down. I did dry box it for two days. It sports a rather attractive brindle wrapper. The wrapper has a very nice sheen oiliness to it. A very good indication of proper storage. The aroma at cold is absolutely stunning. A beautiful cinnamon, light chai tea mixed with a blonde roast. I am on the last day of my vacation. I just had an amazing brunch with the wife. It is sunny and I am feeling really good about today. 1/3 Initial draws are really nice. I am a bit surprised to get some spice out the gates. It seems to be on par with the cinnamon chai aroma at cold. I think the wrapper will play a big part in the experience. Slight note of wood. Retrohale is buttery smooth. Very welcome and brings on the tea aspect. Dare I say oolong tea? Funny to mention as maverickdrinker seems to find that note often. I went and picked up some oolong tea and have enjoyed trying that out. Light in body but quite flavorful so far. Draws are damn near perfect. So wood, cinnamon, tea, with chai undertone. Under all of that is a light sweetness. 2/3 Slight increase in body as it goes into the vanilla spectrum. Still getting a nice tea flavor that is mixing with the core wood flavor. Retrohale brings forth more vanilla. A certain creaminess is coming in to play. What a pleasure to enjoy this cigar today. It is moving towards a medium body and the woodiness intensifies. Wonderul aroma from the smoke fills the patio. So wood on the front, vanilla, chai, cinnamon and touch of tea. 1/2 way Life has been full of change for me as of late. It is quite incredible how quickly things can get better when you put your mind to it. A few changes in diet and exercise and I have been connecting with the people around in me in a way I never had before. Cigars have been a great way for me to relax and contemplate my future. Halfway the flavor really picks up in body. Beautiful wood core mixes with the subtle tea. More spice is present. A bit of pepper now. Gone is the vanilla note. So wood, pepper, clove, tea. Just wonderful! Final 3rd Spice lingers on the palate. The retrohale has bite now. The tea note still is present. Woodiness has faded but is there. The spice has depth. A definite pepper is all mixed in with cinnamon, cloves and chai. Just past medium in body and in comes a nice mocha/ esspresso. I don't want this to end! So spices, wood, tea, mocha. I put it down as it enters nub status. I am fully satisfied what a way to cap off my vacation. Score:97 Outstanding from start to finish. The great part about it is the sheer size of it just delivered a satisfying experience. Big shout out to Plato for sharing this special cigar with me. 12
