Really sad. Got to feel for the woman and her family. I've been to Cuba numerous times and this is the first i hear of it. Totally forgot about Zika as well.

Quite scary - sounds like permanent neurological damage. Nothing to sneeze at, and hardly a hazard you expect to encounter on a Caribbean vacation. Hope she does recover.

This is something I'm hyper aware of when I'm in Cuba, the DR or Nicaragua. They use organophosphates quite liberally. Hard pass on any sort of exposure.

My buick got stuck behind a Mosquito Fog Truck that decided to start fumigating.  We couldn't get out of the chemical fog stream as we were boxed in by trafic.
