El Presidente Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 1. How are the blends of individual Habanos recorded? Is there a fixed format of writing down a blend, and how is this tweaked to compensate for crop differences (e.g. tobacco variety, supply, characteristics)? Great question and one that Ken and I have set our mission in Feb to discover. Like Coffee blending, there is a written record but I am unsure how flexible it is and to how scientific the process is. The blender taste's the final blend before authorising distribution of tobacco to the rollers but I am not sure as to how much discretion he has.
The Privateer Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 Thanks...I look forward to your findings after the trip!

You don't understand that Privateer's question clearly contained a typographical error. He was asking "How are BLONDES recorded. Please try again, Rob.
Elric Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 I am under the impression that the formula is along the lines of: 2 leaves of X 1 leaf of Y 3 leaves of Z binder 1 wrapper 2 ...and roll. The rollers do not know what they're rolling other than the size which of course can be a giveaway.

El Presidente Posted January 24, 2006 Author Posted January 24, 2006 Correct Elric. What we want to find out is the process leading up to this. How regimented is the process...what flexibility is within the process. Should be interesting

Tampa1257 Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 My question is what do Blondes have to do with fishing?
Cohiba007 Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 » My question is what do Blondes have to do with fishing? depends on the time of day:-D

Wiley Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 Blondes are way over-rated. Black and red hair tie for first! There's NO way Catherine Zeta-Jones or Salma Hayek would look anywhere near as hot as blondes.
El Presidente Posted January 25, 2006 Author Posted January 25, 2006 I have a weakness for women with hair ....But I am strong
