Popular Post Rhinoww Posted July 31, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 31, 2020 Individual 42 quart weathertight containers on sale at Costco for $8.99 basically large Tupperware containers w a gasket i was there, needed just one more for long term storage (hahah) so it went in my cart. there may be other better deals out there but it was an easy pickup for me. Just thought I would pass along. FWIW, once the boxes are stable, I have not needed to put any beads or bovedas in the one I have had locked down since February. Shows a constant 65. Tip of the hat to @ElJavi76 for yet another great tip. 5 1
Rhinoww Posted July 31, 2020 Author Posted July 31, 2020 Will do when I’m done w this nice P2. for now here is the pic of the 46 quart I bought and had shipped from Walmart.
captaincaveman Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 The one below looks to be the same one I have paid more for from Container Store. Holds steady. https://www.homedepot.com/p/IRIS-74-Qt-Weather-Tight-Storage-Box-in-Clear-110586/300735908

I am now using a 42 and 46 quart unit for aging as they fit on my existing shelves well. The Coolidor, along w a singles tray remains what I routinely dip into to Resupply my upstairs humidors. I had an extra very large Coleman cooler. The first box Of cigars looked so lonely in there. Now it’s finding the balance of access and not getting too many questions from my wife. The second unit I just picked up will be very out of sight w boxes that have been set aside for a few years from now. 1
Popular Post ElJavi76 Posted August 1, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 1, 2020 @Rhinoww right back atcha Binem. This is an early pic, since I don't have anything recent. I currently have 4 more of the larger 72 Qt bins in production as well. When it's well packed I bet you can fit between 25-35 boxes per bin if you know how to play Tetris right. I haven't added any humidification to the last 4 or 5 bins and they all hold their humidity just fine. I'd rather spend my money on cigars, then on a giant humidor. That's just my take tho. 8 1
Thirds Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 These have been reliable for me...80qt gasketed for less than $15 in the states. Very stable storage. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Sterilite-80-Qt-Gasket-Box-19384304/308820138 2
Fuzz Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 I have a similar air tight box, but a bit smaller (30L), that I use as my loose/single cigar storage.
Zaxeiler Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 Thank you for the heads up! Picked one up today (along with some heartfelt beads).
rascalmonkey Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 the only problem is that hostiles (aka 'wifey-poo") can see the exact contents at all times 2
rp99pts Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 Spend hundreds on Cigars then cheap out and spend $8.99 for a humidor....

That’s how we spend more on the cigars ? I had an option to buy a custom glass display case from one of the local original cigar stores. I passed as LOML would have had a lot of questions. If it seals tight I’m all good. my upstairs humidor is a beauty from the turn of the century and the original owner and I happened to share a monogram. 1
fokker4me Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 I was debating on using my marine cooler as I'm out growing my wine fridge, but this might be a more cost effective solution. Or I'll just build a closet walk in humidor
