Kenfessions: The Corona Gorda Crush!

The Corona Gorda Crush (well, I couldn’t think of a better name) – H. Upmann Magnum 46 – Holgate Double Trouble - Equipo Navazos ‘La Bota de Ron’ No 65.

First up for the new series (and can someone please come up with a better name) looking at some of our Corona Gorda (plural?), H. Upmann Magnum 46. The code, if I can decipher Whipcrack’s scribblings, TOU ABR 19.

I thought I had probably done this cigar too many times for Kenfessions over the years, so I checked. As it turns out, only twice, including once quite recently. The first time, for reasons that probably seemed appropriate at the time, was when I decided to give a dissertation on funerals, the good, awful and hilarious. It went with a Tassie gin, Dasher & Fisher Meadow Gin, and got 92. The much more recent one, just 86. With a weird Kiwi Orange Liqueur called Rose Rabbit and a terrific Blanton’s Bourbon. No mention of funerals.

When I first started looking at cigars seriously, I smoked a lot of these. I remember my thoughts being…continue to full article.

Corona Gorda one of my favourites also... unfortunately it is a vitola that seems to be less popular in terms of production

rob usually supplies me with most, not all, of the cigars i review. i used to supply them all, which was fine, but the problem is the inevitable one of one bloke's humidor. inevitably, unless one is blessed with deep pockets or non-aussie prices, the choice very quickly becomes limited. so rob kindly stepped in. when he remembers to give me codes, i include them. so don't hold your breath on codes for the next few months.

sadly, you are correct, i think. when we did the robustos, we had plenty to use and plenty more that we didn't. this time, only a handful.

Corona gorda is my favorite as well. I have a great cab of 46s from 2008. Unfortunately, we're down to five regular productions to choose from, not including the RA Superiores.

Would not say my favorite vitola, but always top 3. Mag 46 one my favorites next to a sig IV. I still cant get behind the Gins unfortunately.
