El Presidente Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 I was looking through Bond Roberts just now and saw thar a box of Sancho Panza Molinos is up for auction. The SP Molinos is simply one of my favourite cigars. touch of salt, cream, aniseed....floral aroma.....it just does it for me and always has. If you were to offer me an aged 2011 SP Molinos or an aged 2011 Cohiba V ........I would choose the Molinos almost every time. Keep in mind I love a V as well but I simply tongue for that unique Molinos profile that I cant get elsewhere. For those that have smoked both. 10 year old Molinos or 10 year old V. I have both in my hand and I am offering you to pick and smoke it with me. Which do you choose https://www.bondroberts.com/product/view/1822 1

Sandman Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 Sig V by a mile for me, especially with 9 years on it. But really they are such different blends that think it just depends on what brand you prefer in general.
JohnS Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 Molinos (mainly because I can still pick up Siglo V and 2011 Molinos are a great smoke).
Piligrim Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 Smoked 17 years old Cohiba Siglo V and 20 years old Molino. I'd prefer Siglo V, because of the blend. so I agree with @Sandman - that depends on personal prefernce. Also I've met more plugged Molinos than Siglo V, probably because had the Molinos from not the best period 99-01
BoliDan Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 (edited) Molinos. For the same reason john posted, but also because the loss of the lonsdale is so sad. I love cohiba and monte. But if any other marca produced the level of availability that these two marcas illustrate, of this vitola (not regionals!) I would certainly purchase it. Seriously, give me a quintero lonsdale. I dont care. fantastic size, give me more options HSA. SP lonsdale, damn right. come back I will buy 10 boxes the first week I find them. EDIT: I realized this post seems like it is an unreadable stream of consciousness. I have a rant problem. shut up. Edited June 5, 2020 by BoliDan 1
david9985 Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 My last Molinos from a 2011 box finished last summer. What a beautiful cigar. I can't contribute to the debate unfortunately.. never had the V! 3
99call Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 It's always going to be a Molino for me, but not just because I don't have a great deal of affection for Cohiba, it's because long format Sancho Panza, and Long format Rafael Gonzalez really typify what I'd call a 'memorable smoke'. They are unusual, full of rich umami flavours, great evolution. I feel like I can remember all of those experiences, but alas with Cohiba, I liken it to when you meet someone new, and they are doing everything they can to ingratiate themselves to you, laugh at your bad jokes, paying you awkward compliments etc etc. For me alarm bells go off!, I find Cohiba to be like this, trying to whisper sweet nothings.....and all I get is the nothings. Molinos, are evocative, a real journey........they are now but memories......but vivid ones, and thats the point.
