Popular Post Chibearsv Posted May 26, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 26, 2020 What cigar to pick for the Godfather cigar. Here's my thoughts, can't be double bander just because the Godfather doesn't need to show off and doesn't care if it's got 2 bands, it needs to taste good. Must be something that commands attention so it can't be anything called petite and it can't be some long skinny riverboat gambler cigar. Churchills make sense but can we kick that up a notch? Yes, the Lusitania. Beautiful well made cigar. Aroma at cold of sweet stewed prunes and cedar. Draw is firm but let's see how she smokes. 1st third is a mouthful of flavor, no issues with the draw producing thick plumes of smoke. There's a sweetness to it and mild flavors of dried fruit. 2nd third the sweetness recedes in favor of nuts and woodiness with the dry fruit flavors still present. Final 3rd add some cinnamon spice to the oaky woodiness and the sweet and fruit have drifted away. I'm not a drinker but I've got to believe that a good bourbon would go great with this cigar and what's more Godfather than a bourbon and an impressive long perfectly constructed tasty cigar. This was the best Lusitania experience I've had. Solid A+ 10
