Pretty cool. What are those sleeves made for, negatives?

Thanks! Those sleeves are made for stamp collecting. I also have some wider ones for the bigger bands like the ones on Hoyo DCs.

Nice collection!

How do you get the bands to separate so cleanly? I always end up tearing mine.

Maybe try a little bit of steam to loosen the glue.

Ah cool, I'm always so impatient and just try to pry it open while I'm still smoking the cigar. I will try to use some steam next time.

Nice! Didnt know those were stamp collecting pages. I picked up a Pre-Embargo band collection from an antique dealer years ago. (sample below)

I also have that good looking Cifuentes band, got it from eBay. You have a good collection there!

I roll the bands off for those loose enough. If the glue is super stubborn, I leave it in water for 5 minutes and the glue normally dissolves pretty cleanly.

@Firedigger

An old post with more of the bands from the book I bought.

Thank you bundwallah, that was a great find!

What I noticed about the bands I bought on eBay is that they were in great shape for being "old" bands. I wonder if this is because these were never used on cigars or if they were reprints or something else? Either way, it doesn't matter much for me as I'm mainly interested in the look and presentation.

Another easy way to get the bands off without ruining them or the cigar is by warming up the glue underneath the bad with your lighter.  Run your lighter back and forth (carefully enough not to burn the cigar's wrapper) over where the glue on the band is it should warm it up enough to unstick itself relatively easily when you try taking it off.

I think they're lots of unused bands.  The printing quality is top notch. If stored right they should look new. I just saw one auction for 40000 bands of one brand. It was in its original box from the lithographers.
