High quality with tons of color and size options. They can also be resoled for longevity. I have several pairs and love them.      https://www.allenedmonds.com/

When’s the court date and what are the allegations against you? I don’t have to put on a monkey suit for once every couple years. I’m good with a pair of Clark’s as well.

Wear the pirate costume and the ostrich boots! In the USA right now you'd be vindicated and promoted.

Allen edmonds, the leather is probably a little stiff and have to get used to.

Bally, bruno magli are great, softer leather and more confortable. However make sure is made is italy since they do make some lower models in china.

Johnston & murphy is also a great US company to look at.

Furthermore quality shoes are either goodyear welted and blake constructed.

Allen Edmonds are not widely available in Aus, when I looked around for a pair of dress shoes last year. You'd be hard pressed to find them, and if you did, very small range of styles and sizes.

Rob, check out Double Monk range of shoes https://www.doublemonk.com/ . I personally prefer a dress shoes with a plain toe over one with a toe cap.

You can also go for custom made; https://andrewmcdonald.com.au/ https://kazuna.com.au/shoes/ .

Next time you're in Sydney; https://www.loakeshoes.com.au/https://124shoes.com/ .

If you want something cheaper and that you will hardly wear, go for Aquila or Florsheim. Why spend the money on something you will wear maybe once a year. Save some money for another pair of ostrich boots.

I do love a Church's, but I suppose for a pair of shoes you're rarely going to wear ever, a Clarks will suffice? I once had a pair of Geox and it was pretty okay, except that it didn't last me too long.

I am currently wearing a pair from Magnanni. I'd never heard anything of this (Spanish) brand before I bought the pair, but so far they have been doing fine.

I like Alden for dress shoes particularly the Shell Cordovan.  Aldenshoe.com.  And for casual Trask has some great different leathers.  I have a pair of the Buffalo hide boots and Sheep skin loafers that are very soft.  Trask.com.

I'm not much for wearing dress clothes but my Johnston and Murphy dress shoes are well made, reasonably priced, fit well, and are comfortable.

I've received a few pairs of Zelli shoes through work and love them.  They tend to run a 1/2-1 size small, Johnston & Murphy is also a nice brand that doesn't break the bank.

Loakes are a very good shoe in the 1880 range. Made in Northampton in the UK which is the Havana of shoe-making so don't go NC?

Big fan.  Great quality at good prices.  They have that hand made quality but are not overly fancy, which fits for us engineer types.  Also they are having a big sale that may have sucked me into another pair of boots today.

I wear a suit almost daily, and dress shoes for sure daily.  For me, the shoes that were best made are:

  • Ralph Lauren Purple label:  indestructible and extremely comfortable.  Very classic style
  • Brioni:  what more can be said about brioni?  one of the top 3 men's companies
  • Hermes:  very well made, but not the most comfortable.  A bit tight until it breaks in
  • Santoni:  As good as anything else on this list but at half the price.  I don't know why I don't just default to these.

Don't wear anything too flashy or expensive, you don't want to have to fight bubba for them when you get inside. A cheap pair of Dunlop Volley's are a good choice.

Nope, you want a good, sturdy pair of heavy shoes. Perfect for shattering kneecaps. Not that I would know anything about that. :lookaround:

Crocket & Jones is a solid boot.

Viberg makes an insanely high quality boot, especially their shell Cordovan. They are the most selective with the Horween stuff.

Ralph Lauren Purple is made by Edward Jones (Tom Ford used to be as well)

I -love- Bontoni for quality and style as well.

The Real Real can be an excellent site to find true value in these higher end brands. I found some Tom Ford and John Lobb shoes brand new for 1/3 of retail.

As an international cigar baron, surely you're looking to hit that difficult sweet spot between Austin Powers, and the Malboro Man. haha!
