BDSpiritual1 Posted May 19, 2020 Posted May 19, 2020 Hey everyone, I'm from Canada (Toronto, Ontario) and have been wanting to try the Anejados line for quiet some time. I checked the international store and unfortunately there are no singles for me to pick up and try. Due to the mixed reviews, I don't know if I'd be willing to pick up an entire box or even a quarter box quite as yet but I'd love to pick up 1 or 2 of each cigar if possible so that I can see if it's something I'd be willing to purchase on 24:24. If by any chance there are any members on the forum who are from Canada and might be willing to help me get my hands on a few cigars from the Anejados line, can you please DM me? It would be most appreciated. I apologize in advance if I am breaking any rules and if I am, please take this post down without hesitation. I attempted to search the forum for answers before posting and I mean no offense to anything or anyone here. Just looking for some help. Thank you!

Bri Fi Posted May 19, 2020 Posted May 19, 2020 Any reason why your curious to try the anejado line? I’ve had the hoyo de monterrey and the Partagas. Both are bland and flavorless. The hoyo had major construction issues to the point of unsmokable. Prices are marked up and you can get some great regular production cigars right now. Just my two cents. 3

Just my two cents. That's exactly the reason ?! I'm relatively new to smoking cigars and don't smoke them that often. I've have purchased quarter boxes of almost every regular production cigar available here over the last year or two with the addition of an LCDH or regional box here or there. While letting the Cubans rest since everyone says they need time down, I've been experimenting with non-Cubans to build up my palate and appreciation. Now that im getting ready to dip into the world of Cubans, I've always wanted to see what the controversial Anejados were all about since I'm still very much in the experimental phase of my smoking journey. That is why I just wanted to maybe get 1 or 2 from each of the marcas to try and sample. 1
Silverstix Posted May 19, 2020 Posted May 19, 2020 I bought a 1/4 box of the Partagas here last year. First 2 were bland and flavorless, I gave the 3rd one away. I smoked another one over the weekend and it was actually really good - raisins/prunes/stewed fruit in spades especially on the retrohale. It was certainly in the mild-medium category, burned quick. But it did have a real nice flavor profile. I was surprised. I have 2 remaining, don't think I'll buy more though 1
Bri Fi Posted May 19, 2020 Posted May 19, 2020 @Jequan_sparxxx I think a lot of us do the same as what you’re thinking. You hear about aged Cubans being the best and want to try them. I spent $325 A couple years ago on a box of hoyo anejado and I won’t even give them away because they are so plugged. Even the few that weren’t terrible construction wise just tasted like tobacco. I could’ve bought three boxes of monte 4. I made a rookie move and bought into the HSA marketing. Doubt you’ll find a lot of seasoned cigar smokers that were burned by the anejado line. 2

That is the great thing about this forum with all the reviews and comments. So much to learn from. It's also why I wouldn't look to buy a box or a quarter box but just 1 or 2. I just can't help but want to see what everyone is talking about for better or worse ??♂️??♂️.

JY0 Posted May 19, 2020 Posted May 19, 2020 The Churchill’s I got are awful so far. I’m upset at myself for spending the money. 2
BDSpiritual1 Posted May 20, 2020 Author Posted May 20, 2020 This is all extremely good information! Sounds like I shouldn't bother spending the time nor energy trying to find a fee? Thanks everyone.
Meklown Posted May 20, 2020 Posted May 20, 2020 I think there is never any harm in trying out a stick or two - everyone's tastes are different. I have had a box of the Hoyo Anejados - I think at least 15/25 of the sticks in the box were too tight/plugged, but when I did pick one that was constructed fine, the cream and the sweetness was pretty outstanding. I once had a box of the Monte Churchill Anejados, and the final stick was absolutely honeyed chocolate. That was a 90+ point stick for me. Wish I had more of that!

canadianbeaver Posted May 21, 2020 Posted May 21, 2020 So interesting about these is they are available at retail from 2011 today. Regular price. What the heck? When RA Extra came out, community gave them the finger. My favourite cigar. CB
clickbangdoh Posted May 21, 2020 Posted May 21, 2020 The H. Upmann robusto Anejados I bought (on sale, and on a whim) have been fine cigars, but..... I could have gotten mostly the same experience with drastically cheaper Connie no. 1's. So, there is that. I won't be bothering to seek out more once this box is finished.
cookj1 Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 I’m obviously in the minority here but I love ‘em all. I wish I could help you but I’m keeping what I’ve got.
