Popular Post dominattorney Posted May 18, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 18, 2020 we've all got one. This was a Christmas gift from a brick and mortar I frequent. Nice gesture. Let's put her to the sword. Only one picture because it's dark by my firepit and the smoking photos didn't come out. Construction and draw were perfect, cold draw was tobacco and pepper. However I was in for a pleasant surprise when I fired it up. Taste was very mellow of cookie dough over lightly toasted to back. Can my eyes deceive me? I checked again and it is still a Gurkha. This has happened to me before where I get gifted something that appears at first blush to be a turd and I wait 6 months before smoking it and wind up enjoying the thing. Of course, then they are impossible to source more of for whatever reason. 2nd half of cigar evolves nicely with baking spices and cocoa, over a spine of toasted tobacco. The real delight was the nub end of the final third however, which culminated ina. Crescendo of coffee, cacao, and Alice flavors over tobacco. It never got overpowering or peppery, and stayed medium bodied throughout. Definite 8 to 9 of 10 and I would absolutely smoke this again, and dare I say, even pay for my next one. One man's sweathog is another man's queen, or so the saying goes. 6 1
CaptainQuintero Posted May 19, 2020 Posted May 19, 2020 It's strange how things can hit you hard from left field;, my best cigar from last year was a Fuente Spanish Lonsdale. It came out swinging and left a lot of big dogs with their tails between their legs. 1

However, I went back to the well a few times since and found it had dried up a bit. I've also got to stop doing these reviews on my phone. I invariably go back and marvel at the spelling errors.
