Popular Post teamrandr Posted May 16, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 16, 2020 I couldn't find a good review for these. The sticks appearance is quite pretty. It is a generously filled cigar. A bit gaudy for my liking. The wrapper just about smells dead. A super faint tobacco smell is there. I must say it is hard to feel excited about this stick. It probably fits well for this weekends review theme. So I will put this to the flame for the FOH people. 1/3 Toasting the cigar brings a pleasant familiar Havana tobacco aroma. The opening draws are tight. The flavor is light tobacco. That is all so far. Retrohale is literally flavorless. This stick doesn't make sense. It should be classic Monte flavors. It is just plain boring so far. I sure hope it picks up. I hate to waste this beautiful evening on such a lackluster smoke. This thing is going to get pitched. I may even take the rest out back and shoot them. The smoke is completely devoid of flavor. I have smoked 60 year old sticks that put this to shame. I don't know how long I can endure this. 2/3. I am getting irritated. I knew these were shit but bought a 5 pack anyway. I figured with my tastes maybe just maybe they would suit me. After all I smoke old 50+ year old cigars that many would not enjoy. I love them. This is not the case here. Each draw makes me wonder why I am wasting my time. Halfway and I am going to have to throw this thing in the firepit. Which is not lit. I will use my axe to distinguish this atrocity. The smoke doesnt taste bad. It has no taste. I must remark that the gauge is awkward. Anything beyond 52 is too much for me. That is it I cannot bring myself to smoke this cigar any longer. I pitched it at just past half way. Good riddance. This might be the worst cigar I have ever had. I am actually blown away by how bad it is. 0 This thing should have never happened. It is as if they wanted to produce a cigar that would make one want to quit. 11 1
nKostyan Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 Thank you for an honest review without embellishment! I smoked it once - an empty woody cigar. It is better to take a piece of cedar veneer and put it under the tongue. Surprisingly, the "Open" series is positioned for Smoking outdoor, particularly for golfers and yachtsmans ?♂️ But with this taste, it is weak even for premises. 1
Connoisseur Kim Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 Monte Open Series... One of the all time meh cigars based on FOH review (I should call these worst cigars 'Once Dog Rocket Always Dog Rocket' type cigars). Thank you for sharing your experience!
StogieSteve23 Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 Had a lone Regatta sitting in the bottom of a humidor and sparked it a couple weeks back. I did the same thing and pitched after halfway. Woof. 1
FireDigger Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 I haven't been brave enough to try any of the Monte Open line. Thanks for reinforcing my will!
Yellot00tr Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 U guys have to try one of the lgc serie d or whatever it’s called-the recent spain er. I have to know which is worse. That thing was one of a kind terrible. I’d rather smoke an nc monte or ryj than ever smoke one of those again. If it had been the first cigar i ever smoked, i’d never want to even try another cigar for the rest of my life. I stuck them in a small diamond crown humidor on my conference room table just to make sure that I can give them all away as quickly as possible. That humidor is filled with all the crap I never want to look at again. It pains me to even open the humidor to change the bovedas.
BeerPimp Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 Thanks for the review. I have seen these posted several times on Facebook. I always wondered how they were.
