They contain virtually the same weight of leaves mathematically. I think about 2% difference.  I haven't yet scored any Esmeralda. Topes last anywhere from 1-2 hours depending on how slowly I savor them. Anyone have experience with both and their associated smoke times?

Smoking time is much more dependent on length than RG.

I have had an Esmeralda. I'm a slow smoker anyway, but it's a fairly large cigar. It certainly lasted 2+ hrs for me. Topes, less than 2.

53 in the box description.@ATGroom may have to update the site. emoji106.png

Fair enough... CCW updated.

Don't remember how I arrived at 54 on this one, but can't find an official Habanos press release that mentions it which would normally be the "source of truth." Looking at the first page Google search results you get three pages with 53 and four with 54, so I may have gone with 54 "on balance."

I didn’t know either until I got a box. I saw both 53 and 54 ring on several sites.

I think Trinidad, with this lineup have changed my outlook on them. Yes the La trova is a great stick. But the esmeralda and topes are perfect ring gauge and size cigars.
