I don't do a lot of takeaway food but I have to do so this week and am struggling  to come up with something that gets the juices flowing.

What is your favourite takeaway dish........not favourite style.....but actual dish

Let us know and don't spare the detail of how you specifically like it done.  Photos a bonus!

I don't mind doing the work to track it down......and let's face it, with so many people at home, takeaway is taking a hammering.

The thing I'm craving the most is Persian 'Koobideh Kebab'.    We have a fantastic place in Manchester called the 'Rusholme chippy',  and as unimpressive as the name sounds, people drive from all over

At the time, we often ordered fried khinkali with friends. They are fried in healthy vegetable oil and, unlike cooked ones, fried dough does not get wet during transportation. This is a Georgian dish

Burrito.   I don’t do takeaway food often and I’ve never had food delivered.  But the burrito is the food I crave most often.  In Los Angeles, there are quite a few great spots and each has their me

People always seem to be seduced by overly fancy dishes on a curry house menu, but a curry house that does the basics well is worth its weight in gold.

Keep it simple.

Lamb Bhuna.

Very true,  the only time I ever feel like you get rewarded for being adventurous, is in Nepalese curry houses.

Jesus, I can already see this thread is going to drive me bonkers.   I could murder a Tonkatsu Sando,  oh and a pint of ice cold Yebisu.

The kebabs are quite unusual as it's either made exclusively of beef, or a beef and lamb mix.  I know this goes against the logic of the thread, but if you fancy making them, heres the recipe.

Rob, Taste of Saffron over in Greenslopes would be the closest place to get this. Or Farah Restaurant in Spring Hill.

Alternatively, you can try an Adana kebab which is similar (Turkish, as opposed to Iranian)

Middle Eastern restaurants are some of my biggest customers. I've been to plenty of them over the last 7 years.

Thats not a nice way to talk about about people using your services!   I think I'd get quite large if I had 24hr access to a charcoal pit

In the warmer months here in Ireland, the wife and kids and I go to Pete's of Sandymount, about 2 km away from me and get 2 big brown paper bags of battered, deep fried calamari. All it needs is lemon juice. We bring that down to Sandymount beach, sit on a bench and that's lunch. This place always manages to get the calamari perfectly cooked.

I know it's not the most popular belief but to me seafood is the perfect take away/fast food. Especially when you're near the coast and you can just grab something that was in the water that morning and sit out in the sun to eat it. Never particularly needs anything fancy doing to it when it's that fresh, just let it speak for itself, love the stuff!

Living in North Jersey, just minutes outside of NYC one of the greatest things about it is the abundance of great and authentic cuisine of almost every country you can think of. Some of my favorites are Jamaican (big plate of stewed oxtail with rice n peas, cabbage and sweet plantain), Al Pastor tacos from any real deal Mexican restaurant (mostly located in Passaic), Bandeja Paisa (a typical Colombian dish consisting of steak, chicharrón, sausage, rice and beans w/ a fried egg on top and some sweet plantains), and of course PIZZA ? just to name a few. I could go on and on, those were just what came to mind at this moment.

We've got a carnitas restaurant near my house that is out of this world.  Of all things on the menu, the lamb tacos are terrific!  And I'm not generally a big fan of lamb.  The lamb is slow cooked and then crisped up on the griddle, put some on a corn tortilla with onions, cilantro, and hot salsa + beans and rice on the side = delicious!  Unfortunately, they just closed last week until further notice.  Hopefully they'll be back when we get some normalcy.

Carnitas are always my go-to type of tacos from our few favorite local spots here. Well I guess anywhere that I encounter the option really.

Tacos are always a go to for us as far as takeout is concerned.  Last night because of Cinco de Mayo, we did a family taco meal from a local spot.  Carnitas, steak and chicken for the meats. Fried yuca, Mexican street corn, rice and beans for the sides. Sliced sweet peppers, pickled radishes, raw radishes, jicama, cotija cheese, sweet mustard aioli, salsa verde, fresh pico, chimichurri and melted queso.  Don Julio Resposado margarita.  Fantastic little dinner.

How does this compare to kefta/kofta/kafta kebob? That is one we tried at a random place on the road south of San Antonio and it was superb. Haven’t found as good or better since.
