Popular Post teamrandr Posted May 3, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 3, 2020 When it gets to 50° in Michigan you soak it in as much as you can. The sunshine feels wonderful. Before me is a beautiful aged skinny. The wrapper is quite attractive. A more chocolate brown with a nice sheen to it. The cold aroma is very faint. It helps to smell is slowly. Hold it to your nose and let the tobacco warm just a bit. Cocoa is lightly hanging out with a beautiful graham aroma at cold. Aged tobacco aroma is there. Kind of a light mustiness to it. The pack is firm and I am hoping the draw is good! Let's give this a flame and review for the FOH heads. 1/3 Opening draw is nice. Medium in body the flavor is initially a light woody flavor. Kind of surprising. The retro is smooth. I am pleased with the draws so far. There is a little resistance but is drawing nicely. Retro is still smooth. A welcome coffee note has arrived. The flavor progresses nicely as it moves on. I pick up a slight bread flavor. This mixes nicely with the core of coffee and wood. I do get a slight aftertaste of tobacco on the palate. 2/3 This has been an incredible morning smoke. The flavor has turned more towards the coffee end. There are some other notes lingering in there. Perhaps a toasted graham mixed with a cocoa all wrapped into a nice tobacco medley. The flavors are pleasant and mild. I said it was medium in body but it is hardly. More a touch over light bodied. The wood flavor has never left. Halfway and the draw has tightened up. This is not welcome. Skinnies from this era are probably a recipe for disaster! I am still able to get a nice draw but with more effort now. The coffee flavor has deepened. I am enjoying this cigar. The damn neighbor is mowing his yard though. Final 3rd Fortunately the draw has opened back up. There is a slight bitterness detected. Probably from the slight tar build up. I clip the head just a bit further to help alleviate. I wouldn't describe this cigar as complex. The flavors are straight forward. The smoke is very enjoyable as it has burned nicely the whole way. Coffee is the main player with Havana tobacco. I nub this one and it is a folgers type of cigar. Score: 95 I had to mark it down a few points as it did get slightly bitter at one point. The flavors were not overwhelming. It was a solid aged smoke though. I chose the skinny for this weeks review because well I wanted to smoke a skinny. 7
