Popular Post nKostyan Posted April 26, 2020 Popular Post Posted April 26, 2020 Everyone knows that the Romeo y Julieta Julieta No. 2 was Winston Churchill's favorite cigar. England during the Second World war was the most sincere ally of the USSR. Unlike the United States, the British and the Soviets actively exchanged intelligence and the latest samples of their own and captured weapons of the Wehrmacht. This saved the lives of soldiers on both sides. In addition, a personal relationship of trust was established between Churchill and Stalin. I read a lot of memoirs of politicians and military men of that time, and also watched newsreels. In one book I read a memoir about a trip of the staff of one of the Soviet fronts to the headquarters of the Supreme commander. After the meeting, Stalin invited them to his office and handed them a package. These were Cuban cigars and rum, which he received as a gift from Churchill through one of the British diplomats who came to Moscow. Stalin was Smoking a pipe (Hercegovina Flor tobacco from cigarettes), so he decided to give this gift to the military with the words "I am sure you will find a better use for it than I do". Eventually, the gift arrived at the front, where the officers were happy to smoke cigars and drink rum. RyJ Churchill - every time I smoke, every time I write keywords in Google search, I try to remember the author of the book, but without success. Besides, I know that Churchill liked cognac, so why did he send rum? Maybe I'm wrong and it was cognac? In general, these thoughts torment me every time I am alone with this cigar 12
