Popular Post Chucko8 Posted April 21, 2020 Popular Post Posted April 21, 2020 Perfect opportunity to revisit one of these amazing sticks that had been fortunate to obtain. The last time i had one of these my thoughts were it was a 94. The wrapper is veiny with some bumps though has a nice little oil sheen to it. Feel is relatively firm with not much in the way of soft spots. After cutting and taking a cold draw the draw is quite easy so will note to take it easy on this aspect. Taste wise there is a light musty sweet pepper on the lips. 1st third: Starts of amazingly with nice light earthy pepper spice notes and a buttery smoothness. Soon I have some honey aspects and light almond nut joining in. 2nd third: There are some coffee notes underneath there now and the spice is a sweet capsicum with some woody notes. This is just spiced cream right now and it's blissful. Burn is impeccable just taking it nice and steady and being rewarded in spades. Milky smoothness coupled with that pepper spice. Final third: continues on with that creamed spice feel and then mid point of this final part I obtain a pepper steak taste. Distinct meatiness and coupled with it the taste of celery! Haven't had this in the past but by joe it feels just right. That cream continues and life is good. Changes back out toward the nub to earthy, leather and spice. I was easily able to take this down the finger burn level. Fantastic afternoon in the sunshine and amazing stick to boot. 95 on this stick, enjoyed the improvement! 21

Chucko8 Posted April 21, 2020 Author Posted April 21, 2020 Was a worthy Sunday afternoon stick for sure
Meklown Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 Beautiful pictures! Though it was so hot over the weekend in HK - I was melting in the sun. What were the drinks pairings? 1

What were the drinks pairings? Yeah the temperature had certainly picked up over the weekend and along with it that humidity level. Drink pairings on this occasion were black coffee first up, followed by a serve of plantation 20 year Barbados rum for the 2nd third and final third moved onto a beer by stone & wood brewery known as Lovely bubbly. This combo seemed to work well with the proceedings. Particularly finishing up with a very cold beer to counter act some of the afternoon heat. 3 1
Kayslay Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 I have about 5 of 08 898s left. They have been amazing. almost venture to say they are past their prime though. 1
joey rockets Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 I opened a box about six months ago and immediately began looking for another. It's a difficult item to find among typical online vendors? 1
Sir Diggamus Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 Great review! I had a box of OCT 07s that were really good for the first few years I had them and after about 10 years it seemed every 3rd one I smoked was a good experience and the others were all just blah. Not tossable, just ok. I am interested to get my hands on a few when they are around again to see how recent batches are smoking. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
