Popular Post djrey Posted April 12, 2020 Popular Post Posted April 12, 2020 Brining out a special one for this Easter Sunday. Not that a P2 is anything fancy per say but because this is the first time I have smoked a P2 and I have had it in my humidor since a trip to Cuba in 2013. Familiar with Partagas profile after many boxes of shorts and a handful of D4’s I have a rough idea of what to expect. Not the prettiest cigar. Many light veins and a bit lumpy. Firm pack but no tight draw, pretty much perfect really. Pre light draw reveals salt, leather and some pepper. Light her up and we immediately have a very creamy smoke consisting of baking spices and some leather. Very nice. Smooth oily texture. End of 1st third provides a bit of a zing on the tongue, kind of salty. 2nd third and we are getting into some darker flavors. Woody flavors coming through, mostly cedar. Spice in the background. Some sourdough also mixes in. Texture remains creamy and oily. Final third is showing the same core flavors however amped up a notch. We are looking at medium/full here. Woody spice with a creamy texture. Overall I am very happy with this smoke. I’m going to call it a 94/95. I cannot say what age did as I have never had one fresh but I will assume it smoothed the flavors and created the perfect melding of flavors I enjoyed. Now on my list for a box to sample through the years. Cheers everyone. Hope you all have a safe and enjoyable Holiday! 10

Cayman17 Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 It’s definitely sourdough and spice to me. Nice review of a cigar I appreciate ?? 1
BeerPimp Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 I love pyramids. I have only smoked 1 which was purchased with a bunch of singles. I got a ton of sourdough and spice out of it. 1
djrey Posted April 13, 2020 Author Posted April 13, 2020 Yes, the sourdough in this was big. Very apparent. If I wanted to show someone “Cuban twang” I’d point them here.
