Notsocleaver Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 Hey all, I'd like to get a fairly large box of surfing gear shipped from Newcastle to Hawaii without going bankrupt. Box would be 50cmx100cmx30cm, About 4.5 kg. Any secret tricks out there for getting the best shipping rate?
Duxnutz Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 Cheapest would be as luggage on a flight direct here, sadly Hawaiian has stopped flying to BNE for the foreseeable future. Likewise out of Syd. I’d wait a bit until airlines start flying again. Fedex would be expensive. Can it wait?
J-ROB Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 Check Parcel Monkey. I've been using them as a reseller of FEDEX, at significantly discounted rates, to send boxes to my son in college in Korea. 10 lbs. for ~50 bucks...not bad! In your case, the dimensions will be the killer but Parvel Money will give you a good baseline.
El Presidente Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 looking at 150-200 AUD I suspect. Shoot Di an email and have the logistics guys look up their chart. Whatever number they come back with, add 20-30% as we get corporate rates. Let Di know I caused the inquiry
