15/16 BCG--possibly the best regular production cigar of the decade. Smooth, rich and complex. These certainly went out with a flourish.

Yes I am so upset for not getting a box or two more when I had the chance.

Never had any other vintage of the BCG but this one is outstanding.

I have a box from 2000 that is magnificent.  Yes, being from 2000 they rolled them too tight.  But there is probably more flavor in this cigar than any other I own.

I wasn't able to sample many between 02-15 but I never heard anyone rave about them until the 15/16 batch and I had heard mostly mediocre or negative things during that time. It was never a great cigar from 02-14 thus explaining it's poor sales and demise. Judging by how quickly 15/16 flew off the shelves the high quality may have changed the BCG's fortunes if allowed to continue, although I'm sure some of that run was due to it's imminent demise.

As an aside, BCG prior to 2002 were absolutely fabulous, excepting poor draws from 99-01 of course.

Great detailed review Brent - it was a fabulous cigar as I can recall. Thankful to have had one now that they discontinued.

A big fave with me.   I, too, grabbed when the DC was announced.  Still have 2 2/5 boxes remaining.   I love them.

thanks for the detailed review!!
