99call Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 Would love a high quality Punch PC. Are these any good? or are they just yard-gars? If you're a fan, any stand out codes? Cheers
NSXCIGAR Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 IMO, the Punch Tubos don't use top tier tobacco. Not a fan, but I've had the most luck with the Petit Coronations. Always better than the Coronations and Royal Coronations for me. Punch is really missing a good cigar in the 40-42 RG. I would love to see them reintroduce a Perlas or Minutos since the chances of getting a Marevas or Coronas are zero. Making the 898 regular production is a pipe dream. 1

Expand Crazy to think that if they did do this, because of the pricing on the 10 boxes, they would be looking at a $700+ price point for a proper cab of 25 898 cab. Although a great cigar, if someone suddenly upped the price of Party 898 from $350 to $700+ It would have me spitting my coffee on the floor.
joey rockets Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 I just opened my second box this year of the Punch Petit Coronations which I give an excellent review to as well as Punch Punch. Only in the last year or so have I ventured into tubos which I will chalk up as my mistake but forever, I avoided the extra cost and Spanish cedar lining. What I found is the cigars are not majorly taste affected by the wood nor do they have the construction issues that are common to other regular production Cubans. They burn as they were meant to burn. For whatever reason, boxes of tubos are generally older than their brethren and the rollers are more experienced?

Expand That's ER pricing--I doubt they would keep that seeing as how pricing factors in the limited production runs. The only ER converted to regular production I can recall is the 05 Boli Libertadores and I have no idea what the price was then. Punch 898 should be same as Party 898. Dalias isn't going to happen. I just don't know what they're doing with Punch. The most decimated marca since 02. Lots of ERs recently. The few ELs haven't been spectacular. The Punch 48 is pretty mediocre despite it's great vitola. DCs are very limited and I would imagine near death. Good to see the Short de Punch but the only cigar coming up for Punch is the Triunfos and those are basically Duty Free cigars. What's realistic? If we can't get a sub-46 RG I'd love to seen an Edmundos/Gorditos/Geniales for Punch.
