He switched up some meds and scheduled a stress test in a couple of weeks to confirm. It's quite a relief as I was getting ready to stop smoking ? Otherwise feel pretty good other than the hernia operation I'm now due for as the doctor yesterday found a small one and popped it back in. Not sure when that will be happening due to the current hospital situation. When it rains it pours. Smoked a Monte 80th after the appointment today. No pictures but a great smoke! Good to hear you're getting it seen to Mike and all's well. It reminds of a story. My sister's a GP. 30 years ago I was having some wisdom teeth out. General anaesthetic and I had chest pains afterwards. I asked my sister about it and she says, "Oh, they probably broke a rib or some ribs while they were pulling the teeth, they can lean on you like that." That's what she said, seriously. Turns out it was a reaction to the anaesthetic, it can cause muscle pain, including the chest area. I have an non-relative GP. 2
Popular Post Habana Mike
Thanks Andy! Glad my sister's not a doctor.... Anyway, for tonight it's the Cohiba Piramides from the Selección Pirámide case. 2005 version. Smaller than the Piramides Extras and only available in these 5 pack cabs along with RyJ, Monte, Hoyo and Partagas Piramides. Toast, vanilla, hay and cedar. After 15 years in this box no surprise on the latter though not overwhelming. 16
yadegari6
@Habana Mike just received a couple of the 2004 selección robusto cases this week and the cedar aroma was very prominent. Excited to give them a try.

Popular Post Philc2001
Had another 2008 Monte No. 3 last night with an evening snack by the pool, along with a coconut from my garden, a bit of Talisker Storm (for me), and a Margarita (for my sweetheart) This afternoon I reached into my NC humidor and pulled a mid 2000 (maybe 2005/6) Ashton VSG Belicoso I traded for, or was gifted (can't remember now).

Popular Post Duxnutz
Smoke em if you’ve gottem! La Escepcion was a bit of a one trick pony, nothing too exciting except aged but strong tobacco, slight coffee and tingle of spice. Little upsetting. SLR Serie A from a dress box (Not sure of date, thinking maybe 2012 but could be earlier). Always a special treat these cigars; baking spices, that delightful fruity wine note and underlying oaky undertone. My fav cigar. Time to get stuck into my 50 cab from 2008.

Popular Post StogieSteve23
This afternoon we had a crazy 15 minute thunder/lighting/rain/hail storm down here in south Florida. The lady and I were playing some gin rummy out on the porch so I grabbed a URG MAY-10 Epi 2 that I was gifted a few years back, toasted the foot and enjoyed as we watched Mother Nature work her magic. I had been saving the cigar for a good time and it seemed like the proper occasion just relaxing, playing cards and watching this bizarre storm unfold. A slightly restricted draw but turned out smoking very well. Delicious flavors of cedar, honey and graham cracker were the real stars of the show. I finished the cigar feeling very satisfied but not wanting it to end. 17

That'd be great when all this cools down. 10 hours ago, Philc2001 said: It got us too about 90 mins south of you guys. No hail here though, but the wind the rain was impressive. Impressive is right. It was minimally reminiscent of some hurricane winds. Somewhat enjoyable to watch roll through and relax to.

Popular Post Habana Mike
So I've had a few boxes marinating in the FOH lockers for some time. With the new legislation Rob won't be able to hold non-Ozzie member cigars past end of year. As such, boxes are being sent preemptively. One to show up recently was the Cohiba Robustos Supremos LE from 2014. I was contemplating putting these up on the FOH auctions but the pipeline was full. Figured now they're here let's give them a go. Fired one up last night during the virtual herf Good group on and a very good cigar. 94

The '06 was surprisingly more potent, in spice, than what I expected. Below are part of my notes from both cigars from my Cuban Cigar Website smoking diary... Cohiba Siglo VI ARG Jun 2015 This Cohiba Siglo VI, at a few months short of 5 years, had some lovely refined grass/hay notes, honey sweetness and butter notes from the outset. It was remarkably easy to retrohale through the nose. As the cigar proceeded it developed some lemon citrus and spice. Into the last third it picked up in intensity and was quite spicy through the retrohale, which is quite normal. So overall; yes, this was a quality cigar. It goes without saying that it should be too, especially with the premium pricing these days! Cohiba Siglo VI 2006 This 2006 Siglo VI started off quite potent in its flavours. It was also the same through the retrohale. There was quite a lot of spice, much more than the 2015 Siglo VI. The construction was ideal however, each ash-length was over an inch and the ash colour on this cigar was a beautiful white-grey throughout. The flavours were mainly refined grass/hay and spice through to the middle third. About half-way through the middle third I ashed and noticed some leaves bunched in the middle. I figured that the great plumes of smoke, spice and subsequent heaviness on my palate was a result of this. I figured that the cigar would settle after this point (and I was correct). Towards the end of the middle third and into the final third of the cigar, I picked up some more honey sweetness, lemon citrus and a touch of vanilla bean. I just wished that the whole cigar was milder and settled like it was towards the back half. 6

Popular Post StogieSteve23
Woke up early (as I usually do) but earlier than normal today. It is a sticky south Florida morning and I wanted to start the day with something a little better than I usually do. Bought a fiver and a box of these a few years back when I started really getting into CC's. I've smoked 4 of the fiver and loved every one but I wanted to crack the box and see if there's any difference. There is. Unfortunately, the box I received (from someone on the secondary market) had 7-10 sticks with foot/head damage (I didn't know this before buying, lesson learned) I had never planned on selling it. I decided to smoke one of those scratch/dent sticks today and its still excellent. Certainly not the prettiest but still perfect construction/combustion. A beautiful firm white ash. This stick has more pepper notes than the others I've smoked have. The other 4 (from the fiver and not the box) have had more of a black cherry note. Smoke on this is a nice sweet baked goods type scent.
