For Those Who Have Colibri Quasar Tabletop Cutter

Is Colibri Quasar Tabletop Cutter a great tabletop cutter? Colibri's V-Cut and Quasar Punch cutters get many positive reviews, but its guillotine cutters aren't that great. I believe it will be good for cigar lounge setting due to its design and concept though.

I’ve had one for a few years. It’s a very nice piece with heavy construction. The main flaw is that if you put a cigar in too far on the guillotine side the cutting can get wedged between the blade and the shaft that guides the up and down action of the lid.

Thanks mate! Good to hear that this Colibri tabletop cutter has excellent Guillotine blade like V-Cut other than wedged problem! I initially thought this tabletop cutter would be just another overpriced gimmick cigar accessory, but after hearing your experience, I decide to add Colibri Quasar tabletop cutter in my future cigar cave (more promising than typical 4 holes tabletop cigar cutter in B&Ms, which Bryan Glynn doesn't like)! ??

I love it. I have it for a year and a half. Well build. Strong. Efficient. Cut well. Robust. Good looking. 

 

The only downside is that you cannot sharpen the blades. But so far I don't need to.

Thanks buddy! I really like the design and function of this desktop cutter. I think it will be a good pair with GB-2001 tabletop soft flame/torch lighter!

One thing about the straight cutter is that there is a backstop, but don't use that as the gauge of how deep to cut. It's not the perfect cutter. The quasar will cut a little too deep otherwise.
