Kitchen Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 I’m sitting in the Sydney airport after 8 great days waiting to go to Melbourne and the Yarra valley. It has been a nice trip so far and I have seen many great things. However, one of which are not these birds I see all over the city. Certainly one of the ugliest animals I have ever seen. If I had to reduce the Grim Reaper down to a bird, I think this would be it. What are these things?
JohnS Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 These birds are ibises. They are very common around Sydney. 2

BuzzArd Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 That’s some amazingly fast evolution, even for an Australian animal. Plastic’s only been around For a little over 100 years. 2

El Presidente Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 You have to marinate them but "tasty" with a mirin dressing. The flavour is a mix between wombat and koala. 1
