Chas.Alpha Posted March 1, 2020 Posted March 1, 2020 I love a contest! I’ve chosen to pair this with (By Rob’s suggestion) the Five Farms Irish Cream. While I’m sure to be flamed by the purists that think I’ve just created the 1st “flavored” cigar in the Monte line, I already know what to expect from this cigar, predominantly dark chocolate and coffee. Perfect smoke with an Irish cream. The cold draw is perfect, not too tight or loose. The combustion is also spot-on. These are the most popular Cuban cigars worldwide, for good reason. I always keep a box or two on hand, for the days when I am not looking to be bowled over or surprised. Right off of the bat, we’re into the dark chocolate and coffee, maybe hints of malt. Half way thru, there might even be a bit of roasted almond, but that may be from this stellar Irish cream. This beverage certainly lives up to its reputation! Delicious combo. Again, this is not the cigar that you will remember for the rest of your life, but you won’t have any regrets having bought the box. The burn on these (as per usual) is flawless, not hot, maintains combustion with 0 re-lights/correction needed. The conclusion; a very good little (2 ash) smoke. Classic Montecristo flavors, in a short 30 minute format. I’m not a ratings/points guy, as my opinion may vary vastly from yours, but if you want a number, I’ll always give these an 88/89. 4
