Popular Post garbandz Posted February 26, 2020 Popular Post Posted February 26, 2020 How often do you get together with friends to have a cigar and discuss matters of great import ? Our little group has been meeting on Wednesdays for 22 years. Yes,the faces have changed over that time, originally a group of 20 or so has been reduced to two of original group, and a long list of short timers. We have even had a couple of Dignitaries drop by,including @Habana Mike. Venues have changed, smoking laws have made it difficult to find a proper spot for a cigar, wet weather has driven us away during warm months, and indoors during colder months. But we maintain the spirit and carry on the tradition. How about you ? 9
SwissPEP Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 Mostly I am alone to enjoy my habanos, 'cuz my fiends don't smoke CC. So I mainly stay and enjoy them where /when I can.... Always happy to meet new SOTL & BOTL to get together and enjoy a cigars. (Don't hesitate to PM for CC Time if you are around in Switzerland ) 11 minutes ago, parabola66 said: Most of the time I feel the same in my CC Times 1
Colt45 Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 Most often I smoke at home in solitude, and don't really have any cigar smoking friends. I do relish the times I'm able to have a cigar in a lounge whether also in solitude, or with a little social interaction. 4
BrightonCorgi Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 Outside of "an event", I don't know any regular cigar smokers I can count of to share a cigar with.
mcicvara Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 Our 'cigar club' consists of 5-7 members, we smoke every Tuesday in my backyard in summer and my garage in winter time. 1
Popular Post Corylax18 Posted February 26, 2020 Popular Post Posted February 26, 2020 I smoke about 65-70% of my cigars with my Dad and its been that way since I started smoking. Sometimes we smoke three or four times a month, sometimes we don't smoke together for a month. No set schedule, just whenever we can make it happen. 6
Chibearsv Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 I’m echoing most here by saying I smoke alone at home most of the time. When the weather gets better, I do have a few neighbors that enjoy a cigar twice a month. Just depends who’s out and about in the neighborhood. My normal summer spot is alone on my patio under the shade umbrella listening to Pink Floyd and watching the critters in the yard. The neighbors know where to find me if they want to join me.
Popular Post BuzzArd Posted February 26, 2020 Popular Post Posted February 26, 2020 Like many others.... 6
mbflash80 Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 I smoke 90% of the time by myself...with cold beer, good scotch, and some screaming heavy metal...the other 10% of the time I smoke with my brother (he lives in LA and I in the Bay Area so that is usually 4-5 times per year) or my buddy @thecrowder who is a great bay area BOTL 2
TheCigarslayer Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 99% of the time solo, maybe I'll go to a B&M during the winter and someone wants to chat, sometimes a friend will join. Oddly...most of my old cigar buddies went to pipes. Pipes are ok I guess but never as satisfying as a good cigar. I find a bit of a shame too, as I'm practically throwing cigars at people to join me sometimes. 1
KayaKowboy Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 The majority of the time it’s in the backyard with my dog. I have a longtime friend who will drop by occasionally and we have a smoke to catch up. I’m also part of group of guys that meet up every 2 weeks at the local lake. The group started in the late 80’s and has seen many come and go. I’ve been going for 13 years and we mostly kayak, paddle canoes and fish. The highlight of the day is the food we make on site. Most smoke cannabis and a couple of us smoke cigars. Always a good time.

My son is still in college so I don’t get to see him as often as I would prefer. However, he has picked up the hobby and gotten very enthusiastic about it. He’s done a lot of reading and studied up on cigars in general. I even have passed down my favorite desktop humidor which he loves. His palette still young and fresh so he’s still trying to figure out what he likes and such. CC not making much sense to him yet. RyJ Cazadores I gave him, I had to finish. ? Smoking a cigar and sharing time with him is priceless. Nothing else like it. Otherwise, I smoke in solitude at home. I don’t really hang out with others that smoke so I just enjoy by myself. 1
edmiston Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 Had a great cigar buddy in town that I would get together with every week or to for what we termed the trifecta - a couple of hours of mountain biking at a local state preserve (with an outdoor shower!), followed by a dinner out, then the highlight - a great cigar on my screen porch in the summer, or out on the deck with a fire in the winter. Sadly he finished his fellowship and moved on, but I have two great old friends in town that I get together with regularly - always at my house as the two story screen porch looking into the woods is hard to beat. That said, I am completely happy in my own company with that priceless hour of cigar meditation.
El Presidente Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 Blessed. Every Friday afternoon 3pm the deck is open to good mates catching up. Everything is discussed I was with the Sydney lads last night. Great dinner followed by cigars. They are all good mates and I know they catch up at least monthly as a group. 4

Hammer Smokin' Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 super jealous of you all. I don't have a single other cigar smoking friend in my circle. Cigars just aren't very popular in Canada. (for reasons likely relating to our tax structure). Wish I had a great group of friends who would herf on a semi regular basis. Those who do, be thankful! 3
Thirds Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 Much like others, most smoking is done in solitude or in the truck driving to the next jobsite. I have some buddies that enjoy cigars but not heavy in the hobby. The good thing is it’s a hobby that can be shared or spent with one’s self. 1
Habana Mike Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 Small circle of locals that get together occasionally throughout the year. Try to meet up with folks when I am on the road. Happens a few times a year I am somewhere with the time to catch up. I usually travel to a couple of larger herfs a year and then the Partagas festival.
MrGlass Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 The vast majority of the time I'm alone. When I first started, I was part of a group that met on the first Wednesday of each month for a social cigar night. But when that shop closed three years ago, those nights stopped as well and everybody drifted apart. These days I try to make it out to the deck when I can, but these visits are less often than I would like.
Smatthews607 Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 Other than the occasional round of golf with a cigar smoking acquaintance, the vast majority of my cigars are alone on the back deck of the vacation home. Best way to unwind, recharge and enjoy a nice book and beverage.
PigFish Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 Lady Piggy and dog Cano... Not necessarily in that order! -the Pig 1
semifan1 Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 I call it my "me" time after work. I look back on what was done and what I could have done. I work with the deployed military, so there is always a look back at everything. Not many people on this base smoke stogies. 1
madandana Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 Generally it’s just Dana and I. We live in a rural area with no smoking lounge as such. I have throughout the years built a group of local guys that now smoke. I did it by just passing out CC whenever there was a get together and about 5-7 have taken to them. We are slowly starting to schedule herfs. Now whenever there’s a party I know we’ll be smoking. Last week I ever introduced 7 couples to Cuba for a long weekend. They loved it and they get what why it’s such a passion for us. 3
alloy Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 Usually, it's me and my kindle on the balcony.
