dowjr1 Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 I have always been a Romeo fan at heart ever since a friend gifted me a little RJ that blew my doors off and began my love for Cubans. But I’ve been pretty keen on JL for the last couple of years thanks to FOH. Only the 1 and 2 in the line...different from the other in size and flavor profile but both very tasty. I like that concept better than some other lines with a bunch of different vitolas and only a few to speak of being worthy. Sometimes simple is better...just two sizes...and I love them both. ??? 1
bbguardsp Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 JL1 always has a very pronounced citrus note for me that I enjoy. JL2 has some as well but adds some chocolate notes that for my palate doesn't create a pleasing combination. Lower production doesn't hurt consistency for sure.
Islandboy Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 I’m a recent JL fan as well. Tried JL2 first about a year ago, found it quite nice. But had my first 2019 JL1 a few months back and absolutely loved it in it’s mongrel state. Cuban twang ROTT! 2
unclepauly25 Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 I really love the JLs#2 , it was my first box from Foh, they just keep getting better with age. I’ve always wanted to try a JLs#1 , I might have to get a quarter box and give them a try ☺️ 1
xelzh Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 JL always remind me of the van houten orange flavoured chocolate I used to eat when I was a kid

Silverstix Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 JL1 with 5+ years = Cohiba at 1/2 the price Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The boxes I've had all been little different though, and I have been smoking the sh*&t out of them pretty young. All have been great. One difference has been that some have had a light floral, some not. They are certainly not a variation of the JLS 2 (someone described a "hard candy" in the 2 and I thought that was right on). Hold the phone. I just lit my last JLS 1 for the weekend draw. Off to a good start on the first sunny day we've had in awhile . . . 1

Silverstix Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 Wow that is a big claim! I haven’t had mine long enough yet but closing in. Every one I’ve had from this box just confirms it for me. I know, it’s crazy. But it’s full of everything good that I get from a rich Cohiba - that syrupy sweet honeycomb and citrus. It’s so in your face intense, consistent, and tasty that I swear it’s like you’re drinking those little clover pure honey sticks. PUS JUN 14 - anybody else smoking from this box and getting loads of this? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
dowjr1 Posted February 25, 2020 Author Posted February 25, 2020 March 2016 is my oldest box. I like the idea that they are aging well since I have three or four boxes.
BrightonCorgi Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 20+ years; both have been consistent.
ElJavi76 Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 I just picked up a box of each. Love the 2 intensely. Glad I'm getting to experience the 1. The JL2 is best robusto value in the CC world.
