Pinar del Río is known worldwide for its extensive tobacco plains, which flood with its green and the characteristic smell of the leaf.

In the westernmost province of the island there are many sowings of Solanaceae, and they are already part of their culture and identity.

Vueltabajo keeps a great tobacco tradition, and although the municipality of San Juan and Martínez is known as Mecca, there are others who have dedicated their lands to the cultivation of the plant, such as Consolación del Sur and San Luis.

Also, in the town of Sumidero, belonging to Minas de Matahambre, you can see various tobacco plantations, taking advantage of their fertile lands.

The town that covers an area of 173.83 km2 is located in the same mountainous center of Pinar del Río, surrounded by the elevations of the Sierra de los Órganos, the south and north slates and the Cuyaguateje river.

In this, an intramontane valley can also perceive the aroma of a 100% Pinar del Rio and Cuban product that stands out for its authenticity and prestige and has a centuries-old tradition.
