For me not because they are doing this but that that are doing this and trying to be accommodating after years of stepping all over the right of cigar smokers and merchants. Only because it is a new

the hypocrisy is sickening

I’m not against cannabis but the hypocrisy now that they can smell all the tax revenue they can get from it and then squander well saying its to protect “the kids” is beyond belief. Sent from my iP

putting people in jail for smoking pot?

well...you gotta do you but....

that's a drag.

No, I was meaning the larger selling, cultivating, large grow ops, mass distribution, etc.

Canada's always been "fairly lax" if it's just a single person smoking or whatever.  Was never my bag to come down hard on any of that.

gotcha.

either way, I understand a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do, but always hated to hear about those who got put away from small possession.

have no sympathy for those who went commercial / large scale / mass distribution.

but again, cops have to do their job, no matter what that entails. I respect them regardless.

well, as expected, we moved in the wrong direction.

It was advised the lounges that are being considered will not contain any smoking or vaping of any products. Just consumable via drinking or eating.

Further, my city of Hamilton outlawed indoor hookah smoking (sisha), which up to this point was allowed in sisha hookah smoking lounges.

As I said earlier, a great revenue raiser. Every cop will have their cruiser parked a block from the lounge, waiting with a boot load of drug testing kits.

I'm off to buy shares in a drug testing kit manufacturer! :P

Whilst I have no doubt this would be the case, there is about the same level of hypocrisy in this sort of action as the disparity between cigar vs pot consumption. Whilst driving under the influence is certainly culpable, this sort of behaviour by law enforcers reeks of a legalised form of entrapment.

I don't think I agree with that. Alcohol and smoking are worse than marijuana. In addition, everyone chooses what to harm their body with. For someone, it's smoking and alcohol. For someone, it's weed. Besides, not everyone smokes marijuana for nothing. Many people need its beneficial properties. There are many diseases whose symptoms are relieved by marijuana. Even doctors prescribe smoking marijuana for medical purposes. Thus, this is a very controversial and challenging issue. Personally, I love the THC Vape pen very much. It's much more convenient, and it's a great stress reliever for me.

I'll probably agree. Alcohol and smoking are much worse than marijuana.

I'd disagree especially with regards to mental health and tobacco vs marijuana. Marijuana is much worse than tobacco. Tobacco is probably beneficial to mental health.

It's all perspective.  I do not see how a pack of cigarettes is beneficial to mental health.  Certainly one needs those cigs if they are out or they'll start acting antsy.

Don't want to go too deep into it but it helps manage the symptoms of several serious mental health conditions and sufferers are much more likely to smoke and I think that's in that direction. That is getting afflicted makes you more likely to smoke not the other way around. Marijuana is exactly the other way around, marijuana makes you more likely to get a serious mental health condition and smoking marijuana makes the condition worse.

In any case the practical reality is you can overdo alcohol and marijuana and get in a very bad mental state. You could smoke 10 cigars and pilot a fighter jet.

If I were a cop, I'd park my cruiser not too far away from these cannabis lounges, and pick up every one for driving under the influence. :D Major revenue raiser!! :dollarsign::dollarsign::dollarsign:

Verily. The town where I work in deep west texas, the cops already do that outside the bars. And it works. At least to generate income, not to keep folks from drinking.
