medzikone Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 The topic about shape or flavor preferenced inspired me to ask the question: how often do you smoke the same cigar during a week/a month? I love variety. Tbh, I've never smoked the same cigar two times in one week. From time to time I smoke the same cigar twice in a month. I know that few of members smoke through the box right after they spot the box is ready. 1
BrightonCorgi Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 Something like a Juan Lopez are just a go to cigars that I don't mind smoking one after the other. Not breaking the bank 1
Nino Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 I sometimes smoke 4-5 Marevas ( Siglo II ) in Havana a day ... Never get enough of those. Or RASCC - have smoked up to 4 a day. Where is ze problem ... ? 2 1
SmokyFontaine Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 I'd say it's uncommon that I'll smoke the same one twice in a month. Across NC and CC I've probably got 80 options or so, so it isn't too tough. My biggest problem is that I purchased like a moron early and did the "more cigars must be better than fewer more expensive ones, right?" so of the 80 vitolas/marcas, I'll be I'll never smoke 20 of them again. Live and learn. 1
El Presidente Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 I force myself to smoke outside of my regular rotation. In the humidor, my hand will automatically reach for BBF, JLS2, 898, PLPC, Connie 1, E4 etal.
Chibearsv Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 Of the cigars I have ready to smoke, I'm a huge churchill fan so I'm always most eager to pull an RyJ, Esplendido, or Sir Winston out of the cooler. They all taste different enough I could easily cycle between them every day until I run out. They are an expensive bunch though so I'm trying to expand my horizons and it's been very enjoyable trying different brands and sizes. 1
JohnS Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 If I have a box that is smoking 'hot', you know...every stick is glorious, then twice a week. That way I'd have gone through one-third of the box in a month. I usually go to about half the box and then I will go onto something else. After a little rest, I'll come back in a few months to that original 'hot' box and see how they are. If they're still fantastic I'll do two a week for another month until there are about 5 sticks left in the box. These will then remain in my humidor for awhile when I feel like something special. On average I'd classify one or two boxes at a time that are smoking great and which I follow this procedure for. 2
gojira Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 I never smoke the same cigar more than 4 or 5 times a year. I like variety and try to smoke different cigars for a two month or so period. I have smoked 30 different cigars since the beginning of January and I won't smoke one of these for a second time before February or March. 1
westg Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 When I smoke alone San Juan , Monte 2 and Genios love all three and smoke to many. All picked by Roberto so I am lucky . With friends or in company I am happy to smoke just about any cigar.
Puros Y Vino Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 I change it up often. I don't smoke daily, but in streaks and when I do. The HUHC tends to find its' way into the lineup at least 50% of the time. Otherwise, my most smoked cigar is the LESF.
Bri Fi Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 The vast majority of my stock is 2017-2019 so I try to rotate my smokes due to youth. Ultimately it leads to me having about 2 cigars from the same box a year. I like to check in on a box every six months or so.
MigsG Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 Like you and a few others, I rarely smoke the same cigar more than once a month. I just can't, I'll get bored - even if it's smoking fantastic. Have NCs too nowadays which I sometimes alternate with CCs. I can't even buy a full box. If I do I get bored and don't touch it. LOL.

Not breaking the bank I'm the same way. I have my less expensive go-tos and frequently have the same stick 2-3 per week until the box dwindles. I have a hard time finishing a box and always seem to hold a couple back and move on. I will usually pick 1 of something more special on the weekends. So, my go-tos are generally young and I give myself permission to smoke them without guilt because I look for bargains like clearance JL, Connie 1, Mag 46 etc. I would probably be in much heavier rotation if I had a large collection like some of you hoarders. But I'm cool with one after another of a reasonably priced go-to until they're done. Frankly, CCs are inconsistent enough in different ways that I don't get too bored working the same stick. 1
Habana Mike Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 I smoke what I smoke. Sometimes it might be the same cigar 3 times in a week or months before I smoke another. There are some go to smokes, primarily on the smaller side I lean towards, e.g. RASSC, PLPC, Partagas Shorts, Cohiba Shorts as they fit a timeline I have to deal with.
Squarehead Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 In general,I smoke the same cigar only once.Others follow? 2
