Popular Post Akela3rd Posted February 1, 2020 Popular Post Posted February 1, 2020 I'm down to the last half dozen of these, having got a couple of boxes at the end of '16 and then a couple more in Barcelona the next year. So I've smoked close on a 100 over the last few years...wow. So, I was looking forward to it as its an old favourite and generally they've been good. End of a long work week too - settled down with a hot tea and oh dear... The cigar looked good - nice wrapper with a slight mottling, less than previous examples but still noticeable nonetheless. Felt slightly light and the draw was very light too. Vanilla and wood in the first puffs, very nice. Then it went out after a few puffs, no matter - relight and off we go again. A few more and it went again, this time showing a burn developing half an inch below the end - not so much a tunnel, more a wormhole from another dimension. Relight, touch up, torched it. A few more decent pulls and the taste was gone. It was all just bitter wood and air. Awful. And that was that. Disappointing but so be it. I do hope the last few I have fair better. Superbowl Score? Having done some research on the scoring system of this strange game (which is apparently popular in various parts of the Americas and even elsewhere) I'm going : KC 28 SF 24 Whatever that means... Jbhunter223 Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Had a similar experience with a ‘16 Du P last weekend. Pretty sure it’s the same box code. The only bad one from the box that I can recall

PigFish Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 Thanks for sharing. I have had an on and off affair with this cigar. I bought them only as a result of having less and less choices for PC/Marevas. Maybe a good choice for my drive down to the feed store to get some supplies for the ponies. When I think about the pitiful nature of a guy like me trying to find joy in the Cuban cigar world today... buying cabs of iffy cigars for the sake of them being better than cigars that I just don't like for certain! -Piggy

I like 'em, I searched them out while they were around, I miss them being around. I smoke a fair few Party Aristocrats now just because they're the same vitola - now that's a cause for pity...though I do quite like them. Sent from 47171 Lempo
