I sampled my first N3 this past weekend.  I'm suffering through a small cold, so my palate is a little muted at the moment.

As many have observed, construction is excellent.  The cold, damp and windy day on the lake had no effect on the burn.  No touch ups or re lights needed.  Perfect

The cigar started out buttery, earthy, with a hint of oak and leather. My first inpression was that this stick reminded me of a smooth scotch.

As I neared the half way point, the earthiness picked up, as well as the oak.  The creamy butter flavor was still there , but the earth (peat perhaps) really took over. The flavor went from glenlivet to Laphroaig.  Still very pleasant to me.

The last third began to turn a bit tannic for me, so I finished it earlier than I normally would have.  Likely from smoking too fast.

Overall,  pleased by this addition to my humidor.  A definite change of pace.

88/100

Note:  I went back and read the previous reviews after posting mine.  I noticed someone else had referenced pairing this with Laphroaig, so I suppose I wasn't the only one to pick up on this.

I sampled my first N1 about 10 days ago, roughly 1 month after they arrived.  I was immediately struck by the excellent construction and perfect draw.  If other skinnies were made this way, perhaps I would enjoy them more often...   Having read a number of rave reviews, I was expecting to be blown away with a creamy, Cubanesque smoke.  I wasn't.  The cigar was certainly inoffensive, but did not offer much in the way of cream, nuts, brioche, cocoa that I crave in a cigar.  I found it's profile to be rather nondescript.

I decided to try another N1 last night. Once again, the construction and draw were first-rate.  This time, I found the cigar much more interesting.  Light creamy flavors and a slight sweetness were present from the get-go.  The middle third was the sweet spot for this stick; that's where I would occasionally get hints of nuts and cocoa.  Occasional hints of licorice in the final third.  This experience gave me confidence that the cigars will continue to develop nicely.

I’m terrible at describing flavors that I find in a cigar so apologies in advance.  I definitely know what I like in a cigar I just have trouble describing it other than enjoying the nuance and twang that I get from Cuban cigars. I tried an N1 from a bundle I received a month ago. The construction and burn on this cigar are impeccable, not that I expected any less from Rob and Hamlet. I enjoyed the cigar but I prefer Cuban flavors and I didn’t get any of those from this cigar. That said I didn’t really get any of the flavors that I typically experience in a NC and for me that is a good thing. I just don’t enjoy most NC cigars. The N1 was different and I appreciate that.

i won’t be buying more but I’m happy to support Rob and Hamlet with my purchase.

I posted my bundle, less one in the trading forum, hope it is okay to mention this here.

Congrats to the winners! I didn’t get my hands on any nudies this go-round so I had to sit this one out. I’ll be sure to secure a couple bundles of next year’s version and will be keeping my eyes peeled for a swap in the meantime so I can sample the 2019 iteration.

smoked another N1 Lancero yesterday and I have to say that I am pretty damn proud of that cigar. I think that i can improve it in 2020 but tight now it stands up well against any other Lancero in the world today.

Lancero is outstanding!

Not to be surprised, this medium blend (strenght&body) for “General consumption” could not fail to appeal to most smokers.
Perhaps the next blend will be stronger? This would also give the potential for aging.

Had my first No 1 a couple of weeks ago.

Really good and just shows what new world tobacco is capable of. Not full of pepper like so many new world sticks if I didn't know it wasn't Cuban tobacco I would be fooled.

The draw, burn and construction were spot on. Creamy, a bit of almond and some subtle spice. Nubbed it. ?

Had my first Nudie last night. The N3. It was a beautifully clear night until I brought the telescope outside.I remember nothing special about the re-light notes other than perfect construction.

The first third was kind of fuzzy and muddled feeling but time will smooth this out.The second is where all the buttery white toast which transitioned into toasted brioche & light coffee with cream. The weird thing is that one puff would be cool light coffee with cream, and the next would be bold toasted buttery brioche.. which seemed to get stronger into the 3rd. A new "twang" came out in the 3rd that I couldn't quite put my finger on.

I think these will be really nice in a years time and see a lot of aging promise.

Smoked my first N3 the other day. I received them on Feb 10th, so pretty much two months acclimation time. Thoroughly enjoyed it; enough that I just grabbed another bundle of 25!! Didn’t really take any notes, but will more thoroughly review it when I smoke the next one.
