As it's a "new" product, HSA can start off the pricing where they want it to be vs a Mag 46 which has been around for a while and it's base price doesn't change except when HSA does a yearly across the board increase. 1

Right. Cigars that have been around for a while have prices kinda grandfathered in.

The price increase due to taxes should be uniform across all cigars in a particular market, but that is not the case. If the original price of product A isn't twice as much as product B, then the price of A will not be twice as much as B after taxes, given the tax applied is the same percentage. Market trends, supply/demand and profit margins are what would account for the mark ups.

Superb there are some question marks by members on the legs for the 56 LE but as of right now, I think they are travelling fine. tad unfair to compare the 54 to the 56 LE. Better comparisons to the QD 54 / Trini Vigia. 1
Wookie Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Mag 54 and 46 are both med-full, wonderful expressions of the HU flavor profile...way amped up from the #2, even though same profile. They all have their place. BTW I assess the markup at closer to 30% based on market pricing, though by volume the 54 has roughly only15% more tobacco. More importantly, the 46 can often be plugged...never with the 54. This may actually make them even on a price basis. 1

Talk about that comparison how do these three stack up against each other In your opinion? in my opinion the mag 54 is the most inconsistent and the last I’d reach for from these three, however the good ones have been superb.
