Wailbait Posted January 21, 2020 Posted January 21, 2020 Got to thinking about it the other day, do you smoke more in the summer or the winter?
Corylax18 Posted January 21, 2020 Posted January 21, 2020 This will be vastly based on geography, I think. I smoke way more in the late spring, summer and early fall. When I can just walk out onto my porch and light up a cigar whenever the mood strikes. Once it gets cold and I have to go to a cigar lounge, my smoking rate decreases. 1
xelzh Posted January 21, 2020 Posted January 21, 2020 I have 4 seasons of summer where I'm living ?? 2

Cigar lounges DO help decrease smoking! 2
Rhinoww Posted January 21, 2020 Posted January 21, 2020 Unquestionably summer. Can smoke a cigar and jump in the pool. winter slows down a lot for me. It’s dark and I have to put on some insulated pants to stay warm by the fire pit not a lot of options for me to smoke indoors other than my skeet club, but that’s only open three days a week and has limited hours. Wife always wonder why I go every weekend I can ...
Chibearsv Posted January 21, 2020 Posted January 21, 2020 Daily cigar no matter the weather thanks to a heated garage. However, I enjoy smoking my cigar much more when it's over 70F outside (right now it's 20). And with the addition of bonus cigars being smoked on the golf course, it adds up to more smoked in the summer.
rbi Posted January 21, 2020 Posted January 21, 2020 Definitely more all year long except for winter. I hate cold weather. Easier to smoke a cigar on the deck when it's warm or even hot outside. And besides, when it's cold women put on extra layers of clothes...when it's hot outside, they remove layers of clothes. So, to sum it up...easier to smoke cigars and women wearing less clothes. God bless summer time! 1
Cubadust Posted January 21, 2020 Posted January 21, 2020 I really don’t smoke at all during late autumn and early spring, which would be late october - april or so. I’ve smoked three cigars since first of november, two of those on new years eve.
Cigar Surgeon Posted January 21, 2020 Posted January 21, 2020 Summer. Once it gets below -8C it's really tough to smoke a cigar. I'm relegated to the kindness of good friends with heated garages and sheds. 1
SmokyFontaine Posted January 21, 2020 Posted January 21, 2020 I greatly prefer to smoke on my deck or by the firepit, but moreso for rain than cold, for about 6 months out of the year that's impossible. I used to smoke on a covered porch, but got tired of freezing my marbles off, so now I've migrated to the garage with the door open a tad, and a fan and small space heater running. Cuts down on the experience for sure.
Fuzz Posted January 21, 2020 Posted January 21, 2020 Here in Aus, you really do not want to smoke outside during summer! Nothing worse than a humid 40+C day and trying to smoke in peace. Winters are pretty mild compared to those in the northern hemisphere. And now that I have pretty much finished my outdoor pergola, the colder months no longer pose a problem.
99call Posted January 21, 2020 Posted January 21, 2020 Northern England is a wet misery in the winter, but as a ginger I hate smoking in the summer. Autumn, and spring are my major smoking seasons, but even those are subject to being wash outs. I need a smoking Zorb
Chucko8 Posted January 21, 2020 Posted January 21, 2020 I've been smoking more in the winter than the summer this past year. To be fair its a pretty mild winter in Hong Kong though and perfect conditions for a smoke.
Jbhunter223 Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 I never really enjoy smoking in the cold. Not sure what it does to cigars but they’re much less enjoyable to me in the bitter cold. Unless I can smoke inside in the winter, or smoke while driving I end up not smoking at all. Spring, summer, and fall for me.
tigger Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 I average 1 Per week in the late fall/winter/early spring, and 1.5 - 2 per week in the warmer months.
wineguy Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 During Golf season I am 2 per round and play 3-5 rounds per week plus after and extras so lets say 12-15 a week and prob 5 a week in the winter by the fireplace or on the deck of the bar at the ski lodge if it is a nice day. 1
Subcomandante Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 I’m not a daily smoker and actually have time for an hour or more is rare with a toddler running around. But I find fall, winter, spring, summer respectively. I’m in Southern California and it’s usually quite warm year round. Summers in the upper 80’s to mid 90’s F. I work outside and the last thing I want to do is hangout outside and smoke. Fall is quite nice at night and probably my favorite time. Winter is nice with a jacket hanging out in the garage. Spring is okay sometimes kind of too hot still in the 80F range. But my allergies act up and mute the flavors or make me not want to be around smoke.
Mikeltee Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 I leave work with 3 sticks. 1 for the ride in, 1 for lunch, and 1 for the ride home. It's always 69F in my car. I dont smoke when I get home. On weekends, I'll enjoy 2-5 a day. Weather has nothing to do with it. I am a man that has been married a long time so there isnt much in this world that effects me enough to interrupt my smoking time. 2
Elgallo55 Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 About 4-5 a week In the summer, 3-4 on the days i play golf. Winter time im lucky if i smoke once a week, sometimes even 3-4 weeks before i can actually enjoy a smoke. I hate the cold
Habana Mike Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 About the same year round, just different places/spaces.... 1
dealsrme Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 Definitely more of a Summer/Spring smoker here. If I can get to a cigar friendly place in the winter then I’ll get some in then too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
benfica_77 Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 Living in Canada I am at the mercy of the weather.....I don't mind going outside when it's -20 C in my shorts and T-shirt to grab the mail but to stand outside not moving for an hour + ...I can't do it. So I smoke from end of April to Early October. Essentially 6 months of the year I enjoy cigars. The other half I spend on here looking at pictures of other people smoking haha 2
HiPower Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 1-2 in the coldest part of winter but it's never that cold here. Spring and fall could be 3-5 a day. Summer is sticky and miserable so back down to 1-2. I never smoke inside.
PrairieSmoke Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 I am able to smoke year round because of my heated porch, but I still smoke less in the winter (couple times a week instead of every day). It is just more enjoyable to me to smoke with open windows and fresh air. I can't allow a ton of air flow on the porch when its -20F outside here in MN.
adamrobertt Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 I'm definitely a seasonal smoker. I live in NY state and so spring through fall is prime smoking time. I smoke the most in the summer. I don't completely stop in the winter, but my rate goes way down. I have to wait for an unseasonably warm day pretty much. Just isn't fun to smoke when it's 20 degrees F outside on the porch.
