Popular Post Deeg Posted January 18, 2020 Popular Post Posted January 18, 2020 From the Xmas Sampler, dryboxed at 62% for a couple of days. A lovely colorado wrapper on this one, and a really delightful pre-light aroma - lots of barnyard, malt and sweet nuttiness. I was expecting a lot, and things started out well - nice even burn, slightly tight draw but I tend to expect that from a piramide in the first third. Where the cigar let me down a bit was in the flavor department. On the one hand it was consistent through the entire length (about 80 minutes), burned nice and cool and never gave me any youthful notes or harshness. But I wanted more - I would gladly have been nipped a bit by some Bolivar mongrel. Toasted wood, mild nuttiness, a bit of baking bread - that's what I got, and it never changed much. No fruit to speak of, or the leather I often get in Bolivars. I tend to like smaller ring gauges with Bolis as the bigger sticks are milder, and while I enjoy mild cigars in the Boli line I prefer a heavier, spicier smoke. Overall 86/100. A well-constructed and pleasant torpedo, just a little too well-mannered to be ideal, even at 8 months. 13 1
