I returned from varadero in november with a box of montecristo robusto. I have smoked half and they are the worst cigars I have ever had. Thos that lit up had awful flavors. I fail to see why an honest man who works hard for his money should pay for poor cigars. Can you contact someone at the company for me or pass on their details to me. I know they were legit because he said his cousin worked at the El Laguito factory in Cuba. How would he have known the factory name if it wasn’t true? ? Worst cigar I ever smoked! I do not understand what people see in the Cohiba brand... 2

Ken Gargett Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 whilst it is a monumentally stupid email, in fairness to the bloke, he obviously has none of the experience and/or knowledge found throughout this forum. he presumably assumes he bought a legit box and now wants to contact the makers - as we might if we bought something that fell short. perhaps rob should take it as a compliment that he came to him to fix this. it always staggered me the people you'd meet in cuba who could not be convinced they were buying fakes. i remember being in cuba with a friend, not on the forum, and we were visiting hamlet. in the backroom at the R&J and a very well dressed and seemingly quite intelligent bloke opened the door and walked in. he was from canada. wanted to know what went on in the backroom and how he got to be part of it - hamlet pointed out that it needed an invitation which pissed our friend off. then he started off on how the cigars on sale in the main area were complete ripoffs and how he could get genuine cigars for a fraction of the price on the street. we tried pointing out that he was buying fakes but he was not having a bar of it. there are some people you can't help no matter how hard you try. i'm sure he took his fakes home, shared them with mates and toasted how clever he was for saving himself a heap buying them that way. 4
