Rhinoww Posted January 20, 2020 Posted January 20, 2020 Smoked a very mediocre Monte 2 today outside by the fire w a buddy smoking a PSP BBF. Hour 15 from walking out of the house to walking back in w covers back on the outdoor furniture If I had it to do over again would have gone w the BBF, but it had been a long time since I had a Monte. I’ll wait another 6 months.
Habana Mike Posted January 20, 2020 Posted January 20, 2020 Smoked a really good Monte 2 yesterday. 5-6 years on it. One hour 40 minutes. They're unpredictable!
nKostyan Posted January 20, 2020 Posted January 20, 2020 1.5 hours (for high strength cigars, Monte, Partagas, VR), but I usually smoke for an hour. And the last third I usually almost do not smoke - this is a feature of the pyramid, the narrow part concentrates the resin and I do not like the taste. I do not remember that I was experimenting with different speeds puffs...
GavLew79 Posted January 20, 2020 Posted January 20, 2020 For those taking 2+ hours to smoke a Pyramide, can I ask; How? Just how? Now I hate a "hot" cigar like I'd hate a hot poker up the chuff. I ticked an hour but it's probably more like 1hr 15 so that was a mistake. But taking 2 hrs +, aren't you plagued by the wrapper not keeping pace with the filler and getting that hollow, almost gone-out, lack of smoke volume and flavour? That said the UK is pretty humid, so maybe you have different meteorological conditions? If I leave it more than 30 seconds between puffs I end up with a tunnel, and then I have to constantly touch up the wrapper to keep burning pace, or the taste goes off. If not, I take my hat off.
