Lovely Monte delivery today. A splendid box of Dante’s MEL DIC 16 and a cracking box of Petit Edmundos OBM MAR 17. What a fragrant box this is!

These are the most recent to arrive, have 5 boxes en route - VR Unicos, QDO Coronas, Partagas Serie D No 4, HUP Petite Corona and Connoisseur A's. Hoping that the Taiwan customs man lets a few through without tax!

Montecristo Sampler of Montecristo 80th Aniversario and Montecristo Dantes EL 2016 from our host. There's an interesting and distinctive difference in wrapper shades and type, with the Dantes having typically Colorado Maduro wrappers common to Limited Editions releases and the 80th Aniversarios having a light Colorado Claro wrapper.

A box of Partagas 8-9-8, box code UBM OCT 17 from our host. Was able to use the holiday coupon code on these. They look and smell great. Time for some down time. 

Also, my first-ever box of Sancho Panza Non Plus, RUS MAR 14, and some Monte 4, BUM ABR 15.

Those Monte 4’s are crazy.     Look at the size difference.   Super skinny one in the middle and fatty to the far left

Yep, I noticed that, too. Looks like the sticks from this box will provide anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours of smoking pleasure each, depending on which one I grab. HSA’s Quality Control team must have called in sick that day...

They’ll smoke just fine, I’ve had some that were very similar

At first I thought these were way over priced. Then I was gifted one in a pay it forward. They are huge! Like a robusto the size of a DC! Now to see if I can age it long enough for it to be enjoyable.

I actually deleted a sentence in my post where I wrote that I hoped they justified the price. Definitely the most expensive box I've bought on a per-stick basis. I'll probably try one in a few weeks just to get an idea of what they're like, but will try to follow Rob's advice and bury the rest in the humidor until the fall.

Don't even try one. I heard they need at least 6 months or a week dry boxed to be enoyable. Why waste one when you know they need time
